(cards fan) minors has more than the majors, most of em either can't control it or dont have another pitch. 95% of major league hitters could catch up and hit a 100 mph fastball if that is all they saw.

its not that hard to catch up to the velocity if you know it is coming. The thing that seperates major league hitters from average joes is that they ajust to off speed pitches. I'm sure most minor leaguers and a lot of HS players could hit that if they knew it was coming every time.

Haha elite is not 84... Elite freshmen hit 80, elite sophmores hit 84, elite Juniors can hit 89, and elite Seniors go 92+. I got cut my Junior year cause I was only throwing 85, even though it was the hardest team he said I wasnt throwing hard enough... Now senior year I can hit 92, so hopefully thats fast enough for him now : p.

I train with pitches much faster than in the games. An inspecific form of training is when your hitting coach gives you some slow crap that is never in the game past little T-ball. for example, one of my old coaches was clocked at 30 mph in batting practice, the real game speed is around 50-55 in my age group, I've taken 80MPH batting practice. My avg practice consists of about 300 pitches at 70MPH. Yet I can still demonstrate a .300+ avg. and enough power to hit them out of the park.
