  • P.J. O'Rourke said: "The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it."

  • Dave Barry said that.

  • Democrats or Republicans it doesnt matter, listen to what each candidate has to say then decide for yourself. Please dont blindly vote based on which parties they're from. thank you.

  • @failblorg None of the hypocrisy in that video changes the fact that Democrats are pro democracy and Republicans try to stop people who won't vote for them from being able to vote, and when they fail to prevent Democratic votes then they refuse bipartisanship and automatically filibuster in order to disenfranchise those who managed to vote despite Republican efforts to stop them.

  • Well done sir good video I will share it widely

  • There's a clad warfare! The 99% of us just haven't faught back!! While the top 1% get a Lower tax rate, tax breaks, and gov. Aid to there company....we get lower standards of living, higher student tuitions, and less and less jobs...sorry for falling asleep 1%, sincerely the 99%

  • this got it all correct. It's true there is class warfare...but it was started about 30 years ago by Ronald Reagan. The 99% are just fighting back now.

  • Anyone know where to pick up a few dozen 'Made in France' guillotines?

  • eat the rich

  • If I was an American I'd be a democrat

  • I applaud the makers of this video! It certainly explains the very different platforms that the two parties operate under. I'm proud to say that I am a Democrat...democrats care about "the ordinary, everyday people" not the rich and powerful who can fend for themselves. Thank you for creating this documentary...I'll be happy to share it with others in both parties.

  • @arturdrozdz297374 The bill that would deny life-saving abortions is H.R. 358, introduced by Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Pa.). YOU are the liar here. If you are not lying, then you are too stupid to comment on political issues. Our country has suffered enough at the hands of people like you who think you are informed about the world by god so you don't need to learn. You are too stupid to live.

  • I am a Christian Democrat. Freedom is what Jesus taught us, not hate and fear.

  • DAMN those long haired hippy, commie pinko, bleeding heart, tree hugging liberals!! HOW DARE THEY TRY TO MAKE THE WORLD BETTER FOR ALL!!!

  • BTW can anyone tell me what's the name of the music played in the background?

  • @obzajd I put the sound track together using the loops and samples from Apple's Logic Pro and Final Cut Studio. The beginning theme is called "Becoming," and the more sinister theme is called "Beautiful Tension."

  • The main ideological distinction between Republicans and Democrats relates to this point. Democratic priorities include things like welfare, education, ecological responsibility, civil rights - all of which are more closely related to the elightened side of the scale than the primitive side. The main Republican priority is the right of an individual to obtain and maintain wealth, with as little governmental regulation and taxation as possible - which is more closely related to the childlike,

  • I consider myself a liberal democrat whose views are best represented by Obama. Let me explain why within the context of my view of humanity.

Humanity is evolving. Looking back we can see that the rate of evolution is accelerating, but we're still caught up in some of our primitive ways.

Evolutionary progress for humans involves growing out of our primitive states of awareness and behavior into more enlightened and spiritual states of awareness and behavior.

    Examples of primitive states o

  • Everyone who voted for Tea Party Republicans in 2010 should watch this. I tip my hat to you, sir (even though I'm not actually wearing a hat at the moment).

This is going in my favorites.

  • Great post. Amen.

  • For republicans, it has alot to do with christianity, forces its morality and their opinion on that morality on us, constricting our freedom.

  • @GunsRevivalCA If goofy Ron Paul is your only hope, than you have a very sad disappointment in store for yourself! Ron Paul is a JOKE!

  • @ETeitelman Yes you are right. The 99% of Americans who are not wealth will always be in conflict with the 1% that governor this country! I am one of the 99%. I DO NOT MAKE 7 DIGITS A YEAR! No, I do work hard for the 5 digits I make, but I will NEVER BE one of the 1%. Sorry, I was not born into money!

  • What I think the author is trying to get at, is that the differences lie in the fundamentals of both parties. The Republican party has become nothing more than the religious right who are deaf to the people, the Democratic party (who are also subject to corruption), still have the potential to be forced by a vigilant nation. Republicans (yes even Ron 'Jesus' Paul) will further blur the line between church and state. Theocracies are totalitarian, and they run parallel to a Republican agenda.

  • @LaymanScholar That's a good assessment, and essentially correct. When I wrote this piece, it occurred to me that the most corrupt Democrats don't do nearly as much damage to our democracy as Republicans do, whether they're corrupt or not. The reason I think is that corrupt Democrats still know right from wrong. They know what they're doing is corruption, and when caught feel shame. Republicans lost touch with that long ago. They don't even consider right and wrong anymore. They have no shame.

  • This is my number one question: Are folks just speaking up now because many have lost house and home? This is certainly not new. Why did we ignore this for all these years, and it has been many years?

  • @attuj55 People have been speaking out all along, but a fat and happy middle class refused to listen. They're listening now because they're scared and looking for someone to blame, rather than take responsibility for their own willful ignorance and their refusal to listen to reason.

  • So much truth in this video here

  • My only issue with this overall astute and incredible video is that it assigns malicious intent to much of the Republican Party. Where I do agree that the extreme right follows what you implied, I do not believe that all Republicans fall under a singular belief system.

  • @Bookworm5921 I would agree that the average citizens that consider themselves to be Republicans are probably not narrow-minded, evil bigots but they have allowed their leadership to be overrun by them. I'm not saying that the Democratic leadership is never corrupt but their motives just never seem to come from the same place of cruelty, nor do the Democratic leaders rest atop the hypocritical soap box of "Family Values," the way the Republican leadership does.

  • @Bookworm5921 If I characterized the Republican rank and file as malicious, I was being charitable and giving them the benefit of the doubt. If they are not malicious then the only other possibility, considering how blatantly heartless and gratuitously cruel Republican leaders have become, is that they are stupid.

  • Frankie Brown, You're right that Presidents act pretty much the same in the Oval Office.

There is, however, one important way in which Presidents differ: they make different appointments to the Supreme Court, to the Cabinet, and to the two thousand++ jobs in the Green Book, the people who actually run the government. Who these people are makes a big difference in how Americans live.

  • Great video! Thanks.

  • The infamous Reaganite fairy tale of 'trickle down economics' does not work, has never worked, and will never work. Here is how trickle down economics actrually works:

Funds truickle from the ultra-rich, to the extremely rich, to the rich, to the lobbyists, to the politicians, to the Caymen islands.

Anyone see any room for the middle class in there?

The Republicans, to avoid this obvious truth have agained turned to rebranding: they dont call them 'rich', now they are 'job creators'.

  • @CuiusRegio Yep, they are masters of deceptive language, and those job creators have been creating lots of jobs; S. korean jobs, Chinese jobs, Filipino, Haitian, and Taiwanese jobs, but no American jobs. I'm sure they'll get around to it one of these days.

  • I am SICK of EVERY SIDE!!! Why don't you all realize that if the companies don't HIRE Americans instead of going overseas, we won't have JOBS!! QUIT BUYING FROM CHINA... I don't care what President we have, if the businesses in America don't hire AMERICANS, we won't have JOBS!! Only the foreigners will have them, and the businesses will have tax cuts...doesn't make sense... BUY AMERICAN AND DEMAND MADE IN AMERICA!! They get their products made overseas, let them get their CUSTOMERS there 2!

  • @ranchgoddess2012 Companies started sending the jobs oversees to china when George W. Bush give them their BIG tax breaks!

  • We will only be slaves as long as we choose to be.

  • @skywolf8113 If you can choose to stop being a slave then you never were one. It is the compulsory nature and the inability to choose that defines slavery. If you think the choices you have now are because your free. I'm sorry, but they aren't. The choices we have are only those that keep us docile and comfortable enough to be obedient. As long as we live here; as long as they can send military style "police" through your door without warrant (happening more often) we are all slaves.

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO, KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK!

  • where these guys have it wrong is that this country has a capitalist system. What this country needs is capitalism, not CORPORATISM. Get rid of the Federal Reserve that gives unlimited power to the corporations, and wars. the consequence is the devaluation of the dollar, and skyrocket price in medicine which makes health insurance expensive. Capitalism is good, not corporatism or socialism.

  • @dawallaby82 I agree with you in theory, but corporations, if allowed to do so, will use their profits influencing politicians to eliminate regulation and bend laws to their advantage. Everywhere it is legal to do so, they have done it and have been successful. Where it is illegal, they do it anyway and are successful; it just takes longer. I did not "get it wrong," I made an assumption that this was obvious to everyone.

  • @wbprice2005 thats why the Federal Reserve needs to go, they ARE a corporation centered in the cabal of corporations. The government gets its money form the Fed. Thats how the govt answers to the corporations. And the govt gets bigger as a result to carry out corporation laws. you need to cut of the head. Govts were meant to be small because it was meant for corporations not to run our country. Where they have it wrong is for the govt to take care of us. the consequence is big govt

  • @dawallaby82 I agree with that, too, but since the Fed and its allies own our government now, what's the plan? How do we do it? Democrats aren't sophisticated enough to even understand the nature of that problem, and even if the were, they don't have the courage or the strength to do it. Republicans have been the tool of the Fed for at least 40 years already, and it's been profitable for them, so we can't expect anything but treason from them. I am sincerely open to suggestions.

  • @dallassailor posted a number of criticisms that I feel were sincerely offered if maybe a little hostile, but I wasn't entirely respectful myself, and I owe him an apology for that. I didn't get a chance to see all his comments before they were removed, so I have no idea how hostile he became. My response is lengthy and only partially complete, so I had intended to email him directly but his channel is "not available!" If any one is interested, friend me and mention it. I'll email it to you.

  • I see both sides as having faults, but I am liberal leaning. I believe in education, the environment, health, and freedom. While Republicans take away more of our freedoms, the Democrats can do it too. Right now they are trying to make raw milk illegal in all 50 states. Controlling what we can eat is wrong. But this is right for the most part, Republicans rule with fear, fear is fun for many people (that's why scary movies are so popular), so for the fun of it, many people vote Republican.

  • @HedgeLiving "Controlling what we can eat is wrong." I agree 100%. Democrats do have their flaws, but at least their flaws are with the intention of HELPING people. They believe that they're doing something good for humanity where republicans would rather turn the other cheek. Republicans' faults are always about money and WE the people are getting screwed. They take care of corporations where Democrats take care of PEOPLE.

  • @FuckTheGoddamnDems Criminals, not collectivism. Collectivism is a philosophy, not a system. Any organization from Acorn to the NRA is essentially collectivist. Corporate greed at the top, and willful ignorance among the right wing rank and file is what produced our crisis, not "collectivism."

  • @FuckTheGoddamnDems You're more concerned about a system that simply acknowledges the fact that we are herd animals that rely on each other for survival than you are about the threat of omnipotent corporate power and fascism? Either there is a huge gap in your education, or you have been intentionally miseducated, or you are a sociopath. Better see someone about that.

  • @FuckTheGoddamnDems You gotta be farking kidding me. Collectivism? A greater threat than concentrating all our wealth and power in the hands of a few corporate interests who know loyalty only to money and control? Who pump endless misinformation into our society through people just like you; either paid or perplexed propagandizers; A greater threat than the militarization of local police forces? Privatization of prisons? (continued)

  • IF YOU ARE NOT PART OF THE SOLUTION YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM .... STOP ADDING FUEL TO THE FIRE THAT DIVIDES US ... WE ARE ALL PAWNS IN THIS GAME THAT WILL DISTROY US !!!!!

  • The raison d'etre of far to many politicians is divide and rule... at any cost and or expense... end of. The republicans have it down to a fine art and just do it better... simple as. Fear (and the god fantasy) is a regular and effective tool to keep sheepol (aka people) in line and afraid and redilly willing to give up there rights and freedoms...

  • @AtheistChampion but many people who are benevolent with money simply take it from others. HOWEVER I make $7/hr doing delivery and go to school full time, yet I am willing to redistribute my wealth if it results in a better society

  • Please upload this video to your account and spread the word. The only way to make a difference it to stand up for what you believe in. This video speaks the truth and it's great to see it up here. It's also great to see so many in the discussion.

  • Wow! I just found my video posted here. Thanks to all for the supportive comments, and thanks to Licentiathe8th for posting it. It is getting lots more views here than on my channel!

  • @kellandhow So you say: "No party is really any better than the other." That shows you do not know how really bad the republicans are, and how bad republican policies are for the American people. Please go do A LOT of research to inform yourself so you'll have a clue. Happy Thanksgiving.

  • There's one key difference between Democrats and Republicans that this video didn't talk about. Democrats fundamentally believe in democracy and Republicans do not. Democrats believe in bipartisanship because they respect that the people have elected Republicans, and are willing to compromise with them and by extension, their constituents. Democrats filibuster responsibly, not automatically. Meanwhile, Republicans do everything they can to stop people who won't vote for them from voting.

  • @avatarmn Exactly right! It haunts me that so many people have been taught that Republican elitism is what democracy is all about, and what our Constitution intended. Newt "Getrich" is largely responsible for the hateful way Repubs make belittling their opponents a routine practice. In office he regularly sent out lists of words that Republicans "should always use when talking about Democrats." He essentially put an end to the very language of diplomacy and respect for opposing viewpoint.

  • SPREAD THE WORD

  • Great video!

  • This video needs no improvements. it is absolutely stunning it's portrayal and accuracy. I have already shared with with 40 people directly in FB. You sir, are a genius. You have just articulated in 11 minutes what I could not for the last 10 lost years. Bravo brother. Brav-o. (doing the slow clap)

  • Good vid but the "Lead-in" is far too long - Casual viewers, and THOSE are the ones you need to reach, even if they make it to view this, will be lost unless the video gets to the point far faster. --- Just an idea.

  • @dleechristy You're right. I made this video from an essay I wrote for illuminateme, org. It is far too long, but once I started working on it, it took on a life of it's own.

  • This video lays it out. You are to be commended. It's a shame that so many are to stubborn to know the truth when they hear it. I guess it's because they are up to their ears in---- ----! By the way, the Comedy Hour is coming on now.

  • This video lays it out. You are to be commended. It's a shame that so many are to stubborn to know the truth when they hear it. I guess it's because they are up to their ears in---- ----!

  • Spread the word.

  • @j2nice78 blah blah blah....you drank the goddamn koolaid.......you know little of what you speak!

  • this vid needs to get around and around and around.... MORE LIKE THIS!

  • This was one of the most amazing videos I have ever seen. Great JOB!!!

  • What a wonderful analysis! Keep up the good work, thanks.

  • Just out of curiosity, where did u get the clip at 1:21 ? I actually know the people in it. LOL

  • @fredmalone104 My buddy, Edwin, supplied that clip so I'm not sure, but I think he bought it off of Pond5.com. I'll talk to him later and ask.

  • Bravo! Well said! Keep up the GOOD work!

  • I really like the way this was presented. Thank you!

  • Republicans hold America hostage as a political strategy; the temper tantrum throwing kind of political strategy.

  • @Tradeofjane Republicans used to be cool. but then they sold their soul to the wallstreet gang and to the religius right.

  • Name 1 thing in the video that inaccurate? I couldn't find ANY!!! And again, it's all about me, me me. How anyone can vote Republican, is beyond me.

  • @SmittyNmo how anyone can truly be a "religus" person and vote republican. NOW that is the questions

  • @SmittyNmo Unless they're rich, I can't see why.
