I think that, really, this song represents the feelings that we all feel when we lose a dear loved one. Maynard has always said that he tries to connect with his audience emotionally and spiritually, and on this subject he does so tenfold. Listening to this song reminds me of when my grandfather passed.

unfortunately they would never make this into a video. maynard refuses to even play it live anymore. apparently its too painful for him. if you didnt know, its about his mother who died before this album who was paralyzed for 27 years, just about 10,000 days.. and never waivered on her christian faith... kinda sad

@volta69k It is kind of sad that Maynard still is holding on to it if what you say is true. Jimmy is of coarse about him being 11 when she had the stroke. I read that he spread her ashes on the 80 acre vineyard after she died in 2002, when he was starting up the wine thing. Thought that was very cool, She is part of the earth that he grows the grapes for there wine, kind of a way for her to live on through him I would imagine. Who knows with Maynard though.....

If you listen to the song Judith by A Perfect Circle, he sings about the time she was Put in a wheel chair from some kind of accident or something and yet she still had such a strong Christian faith. That's just my interpretation anyway.
