  • whos the idiot that put the smoke dector directly under the whole house fan that is a cod violation for sure.

  • @apctech1 i replaced the ESL that was already there. And the whole house fan has never been used, only tested.

  • @bait28 its still a code violation its a draft source and cause smoke not to hit the detector in an actual fire.

    and whole house fans are like an air source for a fire ask any fire dept if you qustion this.

    i do code enforcement in my town :)

  • @apctech1 We don't have code here. The house is a rental so the fact i even put a working fire system in is a miracle. and sure, i'll move the detector i think 6 feet away

  • @apctech1 Also, the whole house fan is on a relay so in the event a detector goes off(there is one in the attic above the Fan) the fan (and furnace)is cut off the moment a pull station or detector goes off
