  • yeah, never mind buying something made with pride in the USA, go buy that $40 Chicom sweatshop special at a big box store... cause God forbid, paying the price of a pair of sneakers on a rod is way to spendy!

  • calm down man

  • wading in jeans...what a pro

  • A River Runs Through It was truthfully the thing that got me to want to fly fish. no joke. Great movie too!

  • Learning to fly fish is 90% casting, 10% everything else, and 100% fun!

  • great video love this stuff! all real talk no bs, im on the koma reel 5/6 love it $89.00 cdn

  • LOL...A movie runs through it. A movie runs through Cabelas and sells a lot of stuff.

  • I been fishing for 20yrs now. Always loved the art of fly fishing (watching some1). I'am taking up fly fishing for this fall and winter trout season. Went to Cabela's website did not see the rod and reel combo you were talking about. Your own knowledge for fly fishing is this a good rod and reel combo for a beginner fly fisherman?...It's the Cabela's Cahill Fly rod and reel combo. Rod Model 905 length 9ft, line weigh 5, backing cap 65yards/20lb/WF5, reel model 456 the price is $60bucks

  • His advice is on target. 6 weght, 9 foot rod is all you need to get started whether it be for trout or panfish. Lots of fun can be had for a minimal investment and remember, you basically reel by hand, so don't spend a ton on a reel that basically just holds your line. Nice setups at sporting goods store for around 60.00 (rod, reel, line, flies, pliers, etc.)

  • I was inspired by the film 'A river runs through it', to learn how to fly fish.

I would just love to fish the Yellowstone, where the film was made, although portrayed as the Blackfoot of Missoula.

Long way to go to catch trout for me, hailing from the Isle of Man, united Kingdom; but eventually, all things merge into one, I hope I may merge one day.

  • Thank you sir, you are a great fisherman. This will sure help me.

  • Great job on the wrist work! Only noobs cast w/ their arms (L

  • I share your passion for fly fishing but suggest you reposition your camera to the side so viewers can see your technique. Also, it is NOT all in the wrist. It is in the elbow. Luv the gear queer comment.

  • Love your videos, MrJumBow! I haven't used a fly rod in many years, but when I was young I bought a cheap rod, and since I lived in town I used to practice casting in a vacant parking lot next door to my house. I must've looked like I was crazy, but it sure helped me learn how to cast! Once I got the basic 10-2 o'clock motion down and could roll the line out I began casting at targets. I got to the point where I could consistently drop a fly on a paper plate. I highly recommend lots of practice.

  • what a donkey, get yourself a qualification, before you try and teach anyone fly casting, you`ll end up doing more harm than good

  • @happychappy301061 What the hell are you trying to say? Your grammar is HORRIBLE! Before you post a comment maybe you should get yourself an education and learn how to write!

  • Thank you for uploading this video. I'm sure it's helpful for most beginners like me :)

  • lmao @ gear queers XD best part of the video. Im gettin my bargain rod tomorrow.

  • @Hollen949B Well maybe I was a wee bit harsh with the "gear queer" thing but I am sure I got my point across. The simple sport of fly fishing has gotten very commercialized and this is a situation which should not be. Thanks for the review :)

  • @MrJumBow : as some one who is learning the art, not even to call it sport, you're video depicts some natural frustration towards people (fools) who like to spend money (parting) on what the next trend might be. So actually be rather thankful then they chose your neighborhood to purge their wallets. Who knows next thriller movie might be square dancing and love a duck, some city slick yahoo is going to learn to doe doe his docie...however yall spell it...

  • props to cabelas!

im a gander mountain guy too

  • @gorillaz2424 I have been a Dick and Jim Cabela's Customer for well over 20 years. They have some pretty good sales there from time to time. Thanks for the video review and comments :)
