  • This is another concept I've been saying for years and I feel as though I'm way ahead of the curve - that Virtue not only matters, it's fundamentally important. Part of evangalization, in my opinion, is teaching the value of Virtue, and how and why it makes one strong. I got into a discussion once with a young woman about how I thought women with dignity, with self-respect, are actually more attractive than those who decide they want to dress for promiscuity. And she understood.

  • Well, I understood exactly what he was saying in the first video. Seemed clear to me!

  • You're forgiven Michael. It takes courage and cojones to speak truth in public but it takes even more courage and cojones apologize in public. You got them alright! May the Holy Spirit ALWAYS REMAIN in you and your show and the staff.

  • I got the message the first time around. Yet some might need to be re addressed since those that try to make a big deal out of the 'grays' areas. Yes the answer is stepping out and not being the silent majority!

  • Way to go, Michael--well done....much better this time. Thank you!

  • I believe we are all called to evangelise the Word of God through love, service and dialogue. Somehow though, Catholics seem to be very poor at this (myself included). We should be filled with zeal even more so than other Christians as we are blessed to have the fullness of truth as given to us by Jesus Christ in the written and spoken Word of God. My point is I think we as Catholics have become complacent in, and have as a whole forgotten Jesus' command to "...make disciples of all ...".

  • @BlooMort I agree, I too have always found the evangelizing part quite uncomfortable. I think it has rarely been part of Catholic culture in the US. Whereas it is very loudly part of Protestant culture. Perhaps because the evangelizing we see and hear, protestant-style, is such a turn-off to Catholics, we turn our backs on the idea. ?? Mother Teresa said the best way to spread the gospel is by acting it out in every single thing we do -- set an example that astounds people and draws them in.

  • @BlooMort: I agree very much on this... yet a lot of Catholics do not have enough information on their own church or simple bible text to evangelize people. I have noticed this with my church, and hopefully I can change this when I get older. God bless! :D

  • Remember this EVERYONE: Atheists & antagonists are NOT the only other people watching Michael here. I'm sure many MORE people who are confused Protestants, or detached Catholics, or just plain ol' folks who are unsure & authentically seeking truth in some way are watching and listening too. It is good Michael clarified, because there ARE people here who are looking for a way to God. They are watching the Vortexes. Michael can reach them, especially when meaningful clarifications are given.

  • There is a King on the Throne This Day... Jesus is on the Throne of David this day. The Catholic Church is the new and everlasting Israel, the Kingdom is at hand. He has been with us Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity and he will be with us until the end of the age!!!

  • I missed the original episode on Catholic Government and I guess I'm glad I did. Mr. Voris, this clarifying episode was quite clear. In my humble opinion, an absolute monarchy with a virtuous king is the best form of government. However, there is no guarantee the heir to the throne will be as virtuous as the man he or she replaces. Second best is the republic that the USA has, but, as you said Michael, it takes a virtuous electorate, harder to find than a virtuous king at times, to make it work.

  • Thanks for recognising the faults in the previous presentation and for adding the clarity of this video. I was thinking that you were too radical and crazy for me, but this restores my respect for you.

  • I also knew what you meant. Just as John Adams said so long ago, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

So long as we have and continue to allow the National Dept. of Education and the indoctrinated teachers in our schools, dissident priests in our pulpits, the music industry and Hollywood indoctrinating our own children, we will never recover.

Thank you for what you are trying to do.

  • I am so glad that you clearly acknowledged the flaws in your presentation that obcsured your intended points in the Catholic Government. program, and moved on quickly to brilliantly illucidate the relationship between virtue and a just government/society. Well done!

  • "Making the majority of the populace more virtuous." Exactly! It would change who we elect & would change legislation in favor of Catholic/Christ's teachings. We need to reel in our brothers & sisters. We need to change our CULTURE & in turn our leaders will be elected from that improved lot.Our system of a Democratic Republic was so well thought out, it needn't be changed or altered. We need to change in our rotting culture. One person at a time. With Love and God's light. Thank you, Michael.

  • Never, ever apologise to the evil one(s). We of good heart and those that follow the straight path knew exactly what you meant.

  • While I don't think your apology was needed either, it demonstrates how all people should behave. I don't think I have ever seen an atheist behave in this manner. That is not to say there aren't any, I have not ever seen one.

Keep up the great work Michael

  • I understood what you meant and I agree with @andonedave. The hate filled atheists don't want to know what you meant.

You were so right about how much they hate the Catholic church. I mean really hate it. They only want to eliminate the Christianity.

  • Yeah, I was wondering, a lot of those mean blogger's must watch this show and never comment. They just wait for you to make a very unfortunate mistake in wording and they easily swipe in. Overall that seems very deceitful...

  • My facebook page is filled with people who misunderstood this video. Thank you for this as I will post is immediately to set things straight.

  • You're always great, Michael. We know your heart and appreciate you and your work. THANK YOU.

  • I think those (I'm thinking angry atheist blogger types) who didn't understand the point of the video, don't really want to know what the point was. They would rather attack straw men. They do so with such vicious anger. I've seen their comments on the popular atheist blogs. I could spend all day correcting them and teaching them Theology 101, Church history, and philosophy but who has that kind of time?

They aren't open to the truth anyway. I've tried & never seen such a display of profanity

  • @andonedave Instead of going to Atheist blogs, perhaps you could go to some blogs with people seeking knowledge about spirituality. I think if we spend our efforts in arenas where people are actually a bit open to learning and hearing truths, we could be quite successful at changing hearts and minds. I think wasting time in the rot and filth of the angry atheists' world is fruitless, even dangerous. We can do a lot more good with those who actually have heart, & are willing to be open/discuss.

  • I understood you.

  • A Catholic Monarchy would be great. But I think a gov't based on natural law (as our Declaration of Independence implies that our gov't is supposed to be) isn't such a bad deal.It seems this would be a good preparation for the Catholic Gospel.Unfortunately today we have many un-american Americans, like the athiest you mentioned in you last Vortex. I would agree that if you don;t believe in what is stated in the Declaration of Independence you shouldn't be able to vote.Truths that are self evident

  • @ThanksSaintJoseph: I have always thought that the best type of government would be the type of government that the Vatican has. I mean once a king or leader dies, the many different cardinal type members would then vote out of all the country citizens the best person for the job of king or leader.

  • I think that there was no need of an apology. Indeed, there are too many apologies for things the Church has always been proud of. As a priest, I can say that your former point was just. The Catholic monarchy is, per se, superior to the present republic we are in, not because there cannot be a Catholic democracy, but because authority comes from God, not the people, and modern democracy is certainly contrary to the principles of the Church.

  • This does add good clarification, but I think many of us understood you with the first video. Those who misunderstood the first video will probably have a hard time understanding your efforts here to clarify.

  • @adamziegler I do think the clarification helped -- even though I understood what Michael was getting at the first time, what he states here is way, WAY more clear and understandable, and it will allow for more people to actually consider the ideas rather than tossing them out into "forget that!" pile. It's important that he reaches those people who might be questioning and unsure... and to reel them in to the Truth. A video like this does that, the first one: not so much.

  • Vive le Roi, Dieu le veut!!

  • It is a sign of true humility when a man can admit that he got something wrong and is able to apologise and put things right. Imagine if all our bishops, priests, and lay-people were able to do that over the last forty years. Heck - they could even do it tomorrow and put things right, as our Holy Father is imploring us to do. But pride is the blind refusal to admit 'We got it wrong'. Let us pray for conversion of hearts.
