@classicrockonly No, the turbo is controlled by the wastegate and really has little to do with the exhaust. The dual on the 5 speed and the single on the automatic use the same 2.25" down pipe. You can actually get about a 15 to 20hp gain by switching to a 3" downpipe and a 3" to dual 2.5's with a 3" high flow cat. Nice car though, I have a 87 myself. If it's a toy, get a chip to convert it to MAF from a Cobra R and get that VAM out of it.
@classicrockonly no mine has dual with glass packs, it boasts faster. turbocharged cars need more flow, the faster you get exhaust out of the car, the more power and boast, less of a beating on the turbo
I don't know.. dual exhaust is stock in this car.

@BlackMetalKamisama I don't think there's a VAM in the 87...I remember when I had to replace parts in my 83 it was a MAF
