  • "To impress God by keeping His Commandments..." I've never heard anything such stupid like that statement.By keeping 10 Commandments I show my respect to God's will,my obedience and I do what is good for me and for the others.

  • It is not for me to impress on any of you to keep God's law. It is for God alone to convince you through His Word. Sin is transgression of the law (1 John 3:4), And we are all guilty of death by the law (Rom 5:18) But Thanks be to God that Jesus Christ made it possible for us to be free of the bondage of sin (Rom 6:14,12)

On That Note. May God keep you!

"For if Jesus had given them rest, then would He not afterward have spoken of another day." Hebrews 4:8 (Please Read Heb 4:4-9)

  • God has never forced anyone to do anything. We forget to read Romans 14:1 when we quote Romans 14. But when we are with Jesus Christ, don't we want to walk like Christ? John 1:1 and John 14:15 bring into light that Jesus wrote the ten commandments. If we love God should we turn away from the commandments? If Jesus said that He is Lord of the Sabbath, is that not a declaration of the 4th commandment? I don't try and follow God's law because it will save me. I follow God's law out of love.

  • Since you, a Jew by birth, have discarded the Jewish laws and are living like a Gentile, why are you trying to make these Gentiles obey the Jewish laws you abandoned? And yet we Jewish Christians know that we become right with God, not by doing what the law commands, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be accepted by God because of our faith in Christ--and not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be saved by obeying the law ! GAL 2

  • Jim says: "The Sabbath was a sign of the Mosaic covenant" (1:21). This is erroneous. The Sabbath is, and remains, a sign, symbol, seal, mark, token, and monument to GOD as CREATOR.

"..as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make...from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD." (Is.66:22-23)

Indeed, the sabbath will always remain as a monument to God as Creator. Those who keep it not, are breaking it!

  • The 10 Commandments:

    Table 1: Love to God

    Table 2: Love to Man

On these 2 commandments hang ALL the Law and the prophets!

Therefore, the Sabbath is part of the Commandment of Love to God. It is a requirement for salvation.

  • This guy doesn't understand that even though we are in a New Covenant, his law does not change. The same law is just transferred to the heart, since Israel broke the first "covenant" or "promise", or "pact", or "agreement"...CONCERNING the law. The law itself was not done away with. Sabbath keeping was "for ever" (Ex 31:18). Matthew 21:43 makes it very clear that the kingdom of Israel has been handed over to the Gentiles. We are the NEW "spiritual Israel", with a "new covenant promise".

  • Jim says, "Nine of the ten commandments are repeated somewhere in the N.T."(7:54) What saith the Scripture:

Paul preaches in Antioch beginning at Acts.13:16-41. Notice who were there, "when the Jews were gone...the GENTILES besought that these thing might be preached to them the NEXT SABBATH." v.42. Luke, a Gentile, writing about Gentiles keeping the Sabbath?. v.44 is truly the kicker, though. Nearly the whole city comes, on the Sabbath, to hear the Word of God preached, AGAIN!

  • Not to mention Hebrews 4:4-10, which speaks of a "limited" day, and "not another day", and a day that "God rested from his works", and that we "also" will "rest [sabbatismos]" from our works as "God did from his". It's very simple language. Also, these "works" are not bad works. Otherwise, did God rest from "bad" works? LOL! Sabbath is a day to rest from our every day works that occupy our full dedication and attention. God is our example. It is not a day to be building houses. =]

  • @rkg62976 does this scripture teach gentiles to keep the sabbath or does it simply say that there were gentiles and jews who wanted Paul to preach at the synagouge on the next sabbath? but in contrast dont Colossians 2:16, Romans 14:5-6 and Galatians 4:10 far more clearly relate to a discussion of the Sabbath?

  • This video is wrong, even after the end and the new earth is made we will still be keeping the sabbath the bible tells us that.

  • Jesus said, if you love me you will keep my commandments and the commandments of the Father (GOD). He added the commandment of Love Thy Neighbor as they self- BUT HE DID NOT EVER SAY NOR INDICATE IN ANY PARABLE- THAT THE ORIGINAL 10 COMMANDMENTS WERE NOT TO BE OBEYED, HONORED.

Yes, we will be forgiven when we fall- we are to do our best to honor them- we must keep them in our hearts and know the blood of Jesus cleanses us from our shortcomings but our best efforts must be given to the end.

  • We will be judged by our works. Our works are our best actions in obeying God's laws, precepts, statutes and commandments.

    This includes the SABBATH.

Sin as much as you want like stealing or lying but as long as you ask christ to forgive at the very last minute you'll be saved?

    I DONT THINK SO!

Do your best and Jesus will forgive your worst! If you are doing just enough to fly low under radar- you will burn.

    Praise God Almighty!

  • Tell me how you are keeping the Sabbath as prescribed by the Old Testament. Thanks.

  • I do not work. I mediate, rest and pray. I give praise and thanks in gratitude. I do my utmost to keep all the commandments (not just in my heart- but in my deeds) on that day including loving my neighbor as myself.

All of these are forms of worship. If I transgress during the day, I ask forgiveness in remembrance and acknowledgement of Christ's blood and resurrection and I give thanks for his mercy and forgiveness and ask for another opportunity to do better.

  • Should be who work on the Sabbath be put to death?

  • No. In Christ we are forgiven.

However, being earnest and honoring the SABBATH with all your heart and soul and desiring more than anything to obey the commandments- GOD will send another helper.

Perhaps an opportunity to not have to work on the Sabbath- as in a new job with Saturdays off- GOD will ALWAYS send remedy to earnest seeker. He did for me.

We must only be alert to that moment and seize it without thought of our personal convenience.

  • Here is a great video describing people who keep HIS commandments and those who don't because it is not convenient for them.

  • So you try your best to keep the commandments and then you go to heaven?

  • Comment removed

  • No. I keep his commandments. If I fall (be it Satan's snare or one of his minion's snares), or if it is me being rebellious, I repent. I have no idea whether this will get me into heaven or not as that will be revealed on the day of his judgement.

I do have faith in his promise that I will go to heaven- but only God knows for sure where I deserve to be.I keep his commandments in my heart and in my soul. I am a sinner and I am prone to accidents because the flesh is weak- but GOD is stronger!

  • So the basis of you going to heaven or not is upon your ability to keep the commandments?

  • Comment removed

  • Everyone is able to keep the commandments. It only requires a belief and total faith in them.

Telling people you do not have to keep the sabbath is blasphemy of the HOLY SPIRIT and it is unforgivable.

Keep them all and repent when you fall from your keeping them. Tell someone NOT to honor or keep them and you will have your portion in the lake of fire.

    BE CAREFUL!

    God Bless and Praise Jesus!

  • If everyone is able, then how come no one ever has?

Please show me the verse that says it is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit telling people you do not have to keep the sabbath.

The Sabbath was never given to Gentile believers in the Scripture.

  • Read Psalms 119

    Timothy 1 & 2

The Sabbath was given to everyone along with the other 9 commandments!

  • Please paste in the particular passage you are talking about, thx!

  • Revelation 22:14 "Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."

This verse clearly makes the commandments a requirement for salvation. It links "doing the commandments" with "having a right to he tree of life and entering the gates of the city". It's so clear... just so so clear.

  • good teaching!

  • What I don't understand is that he made the sabbath himself even before sin came. He observes it-forever. why is it wrong to observe it too? In heaven we will observe it. but the diffrence between me and SDA I don't hold it as a requirment to be saved.

  • It is only by the blood of Christ that we are saved. The Sabbath is an issue that will happen in the end times. If I am constantly telling you stop smoking, am I depending on not smoking to save? no. It is only because it is an issue at that moment in time, along with Christ as the son of God and our ONLY way of salvation

  • Thank you brother
