Laminate Flooring Timelapse

I once was at some forum and I wrote that I was thinking about putting flooring in my house.

This guy jumped all over me saying that he and his crew could do 1500 ft in 4 hours.

I felt at the time that such a thing was pointless to say to me.

I mean, I dont do this for a living, I dont even want to do this for a living!

Im going to be a LOT slower that a guy who does this all the time.

I just finish installing "MOHAWK" WULNUT Laminate Flooring looks great. It took me 20 hrs for three rooms by myself I must add.

its no wonder the flooring industry is on its knees when supposed fitters are doing shoddy work for pennies whilst proper proffesionals who charge rates deemed to expensive are struggling when cowboys are taking their custom

That floor is awesome and i should know, i sell it. Venezia oak 2-strip from floors 2 go yes? it shouldnt be glued down as its a laminate although he hasnt, contary to what some of the posts are. Anybody can click laminate together i can do it with my feet for gods sake but an expert would leave absolutly no gaps anywhere inclding around the door frames. (you are supposed to cut into the frames and put the wood underneath.)

I think the video is to show that anyone can put down this type of flooring if you do it slowly and carefully.

and how many square feet were installed ?

It took us the best part of 2 days, although we were getting much faster at doing it towards the end so we could probably do it again in a day. I would estimate it was a total of about 120-150 square feet.

are you happy with the results around the edges and corners ? Did you install baseboards ?

We nailed moulded beading to the skirting board around all the edges to hide the expansion gap, there were a few areas around the doorjams and the base of the stairs which were too complex for the moulding and the gap is visible, but you don't notice it unless you scrutinise it all in detail. Overall we are very happy with the results, if we had paid professionals to do it they would have finished much faster, but the overall effect would have been largely the same.

im a professional installer and 120 Sq Ft would only take me about 2 hours to install.

And There Would Be Zero Visable gaps.
