I'm half Hispanic and I think Vasquez was a mean ass bitch to the policeman. The policeman seemed to be a nice man who was just doing his job. I think many people commenting on here do not understand the difference of Race and country. Race does not mean the country you are in. If an asian person got stopped. They would put down ASIAN. it does not matter if the person is chinese or japanese. their race would both still be ASIAN.

The fact that much of the conversation was missing from the recording would be a big red flag to me. Why would the officer not have the whole conversation? Why did Judge Judy not bother to ask him that? There are a few questions she neglected to ask the officer. Another would be, why did you put "HIS" for the race after he told you he is not hispanic?

Typically the "officer was mean to me" complaints are no more than a phone call and the shift supervisor pulls the officer aside and says "be nicer next time". If it continues to be a problem, then they take it to the next level. But this guy was clearly having "another day at the office" and the defendants wanted to be as malicious as they could be from the outset. It's a shame they don't really have to pay, but at least they were good and humiliated on TV.

OMG This case is ridiculous. He doesn't deserve $5000 because they complained about him. If you're a cop, you should be used to people complaining about you. On the other hand, why was a big chunk of the recording missing, if he had done nothing improper. He's a redneck asshole, and they're overly sensitive. Case should have been dismissed.

I am half asian and half european. Because iam mixed. I get many people who can't pick my race.. I've had people say they think iam hispanic. I've had people say i look european. I've had people say i look middle eastern. Not once have i been offended by any one calling me another race. It seems like the defendants are the ones who are racist. The fact that much of the conversation was missing from the recording would be a big red flag to me. Why would the officer not have the whole conversation? Why did Judge Judy not bother to ask him that? There are a few questions she neglected to ask the officer. Another would be, why did you put "HIS" for the race after he told you he is not hispanic?

Typically the "officer was mean to me" complaints are no more than a phone call and the shift supervisor pulls the officer aside and says "be nicer next time". If it continues to be a problem, then they take it to the next level. But this guy was clearly having "another day at the office" and the defendants wanted to be as malicious as they could be from the outset. It's a shame they don't really have to pay, but at least they were good and humiliated on TV.
