One key thing to realize: that's their drummer taking lead vox and on guitar while the bassist sits in on traps. *That's* why Sloan is so damn special.

i love the mood/groove of the song as well as the melody. don't know about the lyrics though. if the lyrics were stronger i'd compare this song with a Beatles composition. Goo Goo Ka-Choo!

no. i'm quite serious. i think the attempt to sound beatles-ey in this song is plain to see. the lyrics however are dissimilar to the Beatles' lyrics, by which i mean, they aren't relevant or cool sounding.

It's definitely not "like all the other's". Granted, they almost alway's do "performance" video's, but that was the idea of music video in the first place, not these epic mini movies created by Michael Jackson, Gun's and Roses and R.Kelly. And as far as them being an "alright band", who elkse in the world is playing rock and roll? Not many.
