  • Wes is the BEST singer in gaither vocal band...

  • what is the name of the song which wes is singing at the final?

  • wes hampton is a ridiculous singer...but he is no david phelps

  • man those high notes are amazing !!!

  • are the vocal trainings on cd just as effective as brett himself

  • Lol your exercise make me laugh Wes :) reminds me of choir. I love it :)

  • stop comparring him with david phelps.... they are two different kind of voices...and wes hits a beautiful high F5 in "i'll singing with the saints" (at the end)

  • Wes Hampton has a good voice, but comes NOWHERE near to what David Phelps can do! David Phelps is one of my favorites of ALL time!

  • i have the brett Manning CD's (the singing success pack), as well as the Jesse Nemitz (high mix register) CD's. I sometimes feel discouraged because i work on my voice yet.. i cant find the blend.. is it a muscle training thing? or is it an "A-HA" moment where u find out how to blend the head voice and the chest voice? i feel so discouraged because i wish i can hit the mix register without breaking and to hit it with confidence and power.

  • hey singing success coaches out there, how about an insight on David Phelps' voice, and something about his technique

  • wow his voice is simply amazing! he is blessed to have a voice to great and to be able to have a voice teacher to help him find it!

  • i wish brett was around when i was younger, and before i blew out my vocals~! Oh well, such is life.

  • Wow !!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I have Brett as my voice teacher. Unbelievable!!! The results are worth the change in ideology!!

  • Wes=perfection...thanks for uploading the viideo. I am sending it on to my DH who is a singer. He'll love watching it.

  • Wes is the greatest.

  • whats the last song?

  • "Place Called Hope" filmed in "Back Home in Indiana" and also on the "Give It Away" album I believe. Hope this helps :)

  • Correction: It was never in "Back Home in Indiana".

  • "Place Called Hope" from the GVB album "Give It Away"

  • What s the song at 3:00?? Thanks a bunch :)

  • thats 'i will go on' from 'give it away'

  • which song is it at 3:31? which album is it from?

  • HAHA...yEAH THiS REMiNDz MEEH OF My HiGH SCHoOL CHOiR TEACHER......

  • good voice...hes very cute too:)

  • i love his voice :)

  • GO WES!!

  • I love Wes he is an inspiration to me!!!!! He is so humble!!!

  • LATER: the song is "I will go on"...(for who need this information :P)

  • hi!does anyone of you know the name of the song that GVB sings at 3.00 min? thx

  • great control and support at both ends of his range -- and it doesn't sound like two different voices. cool.

  • thank you cookieskank29! peace man

  • hi guys!does anyone of you know the name of the song that wes sing at 1 min. 19??its sadness but amazing!!plz help me find it out

    peace

  • The song is "Never Felt This Way" by Brian Mcknight

  • brian mcknight has mastered speech level singing as well, it's so amazing how you can sing as high as your voice can go without straining

  • niceeee! love the harmonies..

  • I get so tired of Wes being compared to David Phelps and everyone saying how so much better David is. I'm a huge HUGE fan of both of them therefore I don't say that one's better than the other. Remember, David's major in college was in the music department which might help a little, don't ya think? Wes is talented, obviously, and so is David. They are their own people but people are going to like who they like. But it's in no one's absolute assurance that David is THE best.

  • david phelps may not be the best all around singer, but in my opinion (this is just my opinion, don't kill me), he has the best control of his registers and the most effortless high notes i've ever heard, including opera singers.

  • no opinions allowed here :) jk hey but this is Wes's time to shine don't ya think?

  • oh yes, i agree with you there...he has a wonderful voice, and much better control of it than i could ever have. :)

  • I've heard only few performances of both singers and I have to say David seems to have more power on very highchest/mixed notes,I mean his voice on those very high notes is just terrific.

But they both are very impressive singers!

  • @kghobbes... could not agree more with your statement. Phelps high registry is the best I've heard. However, he is not the best all around singer.

  • @kghobbes "david phelps may not be the best all around singer" David Phelps is the best singer and he has great technique. I don't know what you are talking about! He is a great singer with that beautiful and passionate voice of his. I never heard someone that before.

  • @ThePianoguy89 I'm not bashing David, seriously. He is my FAVORITE singer, simply because he has such an emotional and powerful voice, but there are more technically skilled singers out there, trust me.

  • @kghobbes There is nothing wrong with his technique. He barely strains and his placement is flawless. He really knows how to belt in the mask too. He has that gorgeous and more rounded sound to his belts.

  • hes so cute <3

  • Wouldn't the fact that the veins in his neck are showing and his neck looks tight indicate that he's straining? Just wondering...

  • no it just means that he's 95% correct 5% incorrect. it's funny you mention cause right after that note he was like "oops I didn't get the right support for that note, for the record". I just put it in the vid because it sounds pretty dang good, don't you agree?

  • I do agree! But yeah, I just notice stuff like that. Thanks for the info.

  • Where can we get ideas on how to do vibrato?

  • Are you brett yourself who answered?

  • No this is Jesse Nemitz

  • @SingingSuccess i agree :-}

  • Hah, I've always loved Wes's voice and thought it was amazing. Who would've imagined that he was Brett's student. Hope that SS will show good results for all of us out there as well :D

Oh and Jesse, if you're reading this - you're an inspiration. I would never have believed that a 12 CD set could get your before voice into the voice it is now. I literally had a seizure when I heard the before and after clips. Good job man! I'll be working hard on my voice too ^^

  • sweet! thanks for the comment.

  • No problem =D. Still working hard on it~ I've still got a lot of qualms with my voice but I suppose they will take time to fix and get right. I have to remember not to be impatient. Will you be posting any new songs up on your site? I'd really like to hear them ^^

  • Great pair of lungs onya Wes! Fabulous voice!

  • WesHampton's voice sounds really smooth I've always liked it. But David Phelps is still probably my favorite male singer.

  • What are the songs that Mr. Hampton sings with Brett in this video?

  • I think the one you are thinking of is "There will never come a day". brian mcknight did that one.

  • do you have any advice for a 11year old girl im really into paramore n i just cant hit the high notes without straining do u have any great advice bout breathing n singing???? thanks:)

  • Hi, sorry i dont have any advice but i just wanted 2 say i love paramore nd i try 2 sing like Hayley but keep straining aswel. If i get n e info bout breathin n singin then i let u now :)

  • To both of you:

You should look into vocal coaches in your area. Lessons aren't as expensive as you would probably think, and if you depend on your parents to pay, maybe just ask for a month's worth, a lesson a week. If you can't financially continue after that, then at least you've got a nudge in the right direction.

  • best voice ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh...Wes Hampton. Originally from a small little placed called Brownsville, TN. I graduated high school with him - he was a pal of mine. Absolute great guy.

  • nope I would cycle through the lessons and just because you suck at one exercise don't just keep doing that one CD. you might learn something on disc 7 that you never knew (like vowel narrowing) that would help you nail the mix on CD 5. So do a CD then move on the next day and cycle back if it gets WAY to hard.

  • thx for the info God bless

  • how long should i stay on one cd. Is it just till i feel good about doing the exercises.

  • another great tool for you would be to get a phone lesson to make sure you are on the right track. We don't always recommend WEEKLY lessons... but a one hour session to answer all those nagging questions and make sure you are GETTING IT is invaluable to your progress with the program.

  • do u practice everyday

  • yeah because i need good high notes every day.. I don't forget how to do it ever but it stays REALLY easy if I give it a go pretty much every day. If i stop for a couple days it gets harder at first to get back into the full high mix.

  • i bought the singing success cd program about a year ago and when i am faithful to doing the exercises i see some results but when i stop for awhile i find myself pushing instead of allowing when i sing.

  • Yeah I still use the CD8 daily warmup to keep in tip top shape...

  • JESUS !!!!!!!!!!

  • !!!!!!

  • ok I'll take that bet.

  • teach me teach me! how to do that

  • I've watched quite a few of these and read a lot about Brett's techniques, and I am thinking about buying his program, but, I'm a little hesitant about something like this. Anyone who has tried it, your opinion would be most appreciated.

  • well I'm jesse nemitz. I now work for the company because I found the product to be so amazing. You can read about my story on my website.

  • Ok, thank you very much.

  • what does brett think about David Phelps. I personally think hes the greatest singer ive ever heard. God has truly blessed him.

  • I have one thing to say : Buy this program If you wanna learn how to sing. It's simply amazing.

My old video's are still on and you'll hear I'm quite crappy, yet in a small month my range exploded and I can can sing through several hard parts, and each day gets beter!

Will post some new material soon :>

    WTF!!!!

  • sweet! I love hearing when people get similar results as I did with the program. (this is Jesse Nemitz by the way) so I can relate.

  • WHEW!!! WES is sanging!!!

  • i have trouble when doing nay nay nay on an octave scale....anyone got any suggestions to help me?

  • what kind of trouble. Do you break into falsetto... do you squeeze and then it hurts...

  • Its hard for me to keep my larynx down a little....I feel like I need to push when I'm on the G above middle C....if I try to control it, I break into falsetto......

  • that's very common and we can help! you should give our staff a call and we'll consult you over the phone. visit the website for contact info plz. thanks music dude and goodluck.

  • He's Good

  • His Voice is beautiful beyond words!!

  • Wes hampton has a really good tenor voice but not as good as david phelps in my opinion. Phelps high notes in oh holy night the high C# are floating and vibrant and in my opinion more of a fullvoice sound than all the pop singers I´ve heard.

  • hey can anyone tell me where can i get the song *a place called hope*??? i cant find it anywhere can anyone tell where i can find it??

  • You may have already found the song by now, but just in case I thought I'd tell you that it's on the Gaither Vocal Band project "Give It Away", both the CD and the DVD have it. Hope that helps!

  • well Jesse, you're right it's subjective, but there's a lot more to Phelps than just high notes. He's very stylistic, and his riffs are so clean, sharp, and fast. Plus, his control shifting registers and his falsetto is quite amazing. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

  • of course! If you listen to his licks though, they aren't smoothly.. he uses a glottal strike to delineate notes, it's a shortcut to have licks but doesn't actually work that well. If you compare brian mcknight runs with phelps side by side you would hear the difference. Phelps has gotten more stylistic over the years definitely. i'm a big fan, but "best voice in the world"?... I think it's more accurate to say "my favorite" rather than objective "best". he used to be my favorite too :)

  • I agree 100%. David is good, but a little hard to listen to at times. Wes has a better tone if you ask me...which you didn't.

  • What does Brett think about David Phelps? He is easily the best male vocalist around...

  • hmmm.. best male voice around? Obviously that's subjective. I hear a lot of voices and I appreciate them all. I love phelp's high notes. But I think wes's voice is easier to listen to and he has much better licks, not to mention powerful high notes too. Good high notes don't make someone the BEST vocalist though in my opinion. again, subjective :)

  • Davd and Wes are 2 of the most talented singers Ive ever heard, and its great seeing them use their gifts for the Lord. As far as wes being easier to listen to I dont know. I could listen to David 24/7 lol, but everyones different. God bless

  • i LOVE Wes Hampton!

  • hey singing succes;) i was wondering about the song that wes hampton was singning in the last part of the video i really liked it the song starts at the 3;30 mark of the video?/ till the end i dont know if you guys could no the title of that song??? let me know;)thank u;)

  • that song is called "Place called Hope"

  • Do any of the other members take lesson with Brett?

  • Not yet but I know Brett has been wanting to work with guy for a while :)

  • Did Brent coach David Phelps?

  • No brett hasn't done any coaching with phelps. I'm pretty sure phelps has a degree in voice. You can hear his classical influence (operatic) if you listen to his early stuff like on "Journey to Grace".

  • Oh, and once again... Brett looks pretty big lol.

  • Amazing! Pretty much like everyone that Brett works with!

  • So unfair.. O_O

Some day I WILL get in contact with Brett. Just you wait and see.

I WILL be able to afford it one day.
