Well done, man!!! Beautifully played and recorded. Yours semi-acoustic playing and sounding reminds me of Szabo (that's a compliment). All the best!!!
truly beautiful!! Well done!!! :) One of my favorite Jobim tunes...I learned the electric solo part many years ago, but the addition of the fingerstyle was amazing, I really enjoyed it. Nicely done sir!
@anon314z Go right ahead! :) I also have a few CDs available on my website, including a new one that's coming out soon. Everyone who pre-orders the new CD, "Rite of Passage", will receive a free copy of one of my older CDs (your choice of either Watercolors of the World or Silhouette):
danielvolovets.co m/discography (YouTube won't let me paste hyperlinks, remove space in "com".
@Bulerias2005 Thank you for letting me know. just check out the site. I am seriously considering getting your new CD esp if i can have a free copy of either of your older ones. :) i now just have to decide between watercolors and world of silhouette :))
@anon314z Awesome! There are samples for all three CDs on the site, so if you decide to go ahead with the order, you can write which CD you'd like for the bonus through the PayPal comments section. You can also shoot me an email letting me know which one you'd like at danielvolovets@yahoo.com. Thanks again! :)
Daniel you are the best violinist of Brazilian music abroad I could find on youtube. His style reminds me a lot of Carlos Barbosa-Lima. I know all the songs you play, because it's my favorite style, and presents you with a perfect technique. The melodies come out of your pure guitar. You put your talents to the song and that is rare. Congratulations and thank you for giving a refined his technique!
Man how old are you? You play amazing guitar! and your little brother rocks too! I'm gonna watch this vid and try and copy you! Check out my vid and see what you think of my style. Not as good as you though. All the best from NE England.
I agree with the comment below that said: "you preserved the purity of the song". Not many people can keep true to the bossa nova in the rythm part ... Great Job !!!
Daniel and Adrian this is absolutely one of my favorite video. You have inspired me to learn this piece. you are on your way. I know I will see you in the concert hall in the future. This performance sounded very professional.
Hi Daniel & Adrian! You both went right to my "fav" videos with this song. I first heard "Favela" many years ago as performed by The Sergio Mendes Trio (pre- Brasil '66), just piano, bass & percussion, and with a guest floutist, Bud Shank, opening the song. Until I read the info here, just now, I never knew this was a Jobim composition!! (Shame on me!) Watching and hearing you both play this wonderful song made my day. Your version is outstanding! Guitar and melodica really sound great! - joe v
Hi. What key do you play the song in?
