take a lighter to the edges of the containers where you cut, this will make the edges less sharp. Also I would suggest keep it to 2 hides with the log or 3 without it, that's a big space and he/she may not notice food before it dies. That's the real reason for keeping your enclosure concise.

You should make the whole smaller. And leopard geckos shed all at once, so if theres shed left on his toes, then he just shed at the petstore.
