Sad to say, but you were 100% correct on this issue. This was a distraction from Obama's record. I ended up voting for Obama, which I now regret. I got very suspicious with him on the AIG issue and started doing my own research. In general, I think many Americans, like myself, just did not know Obama. He was not vetted properly, but I should have researched him better myself. Fortunately, I think some are starting to understand him from his hypocritical position on extended detentions. Thanks.

Second, McCain refused early release only a few weeks after he was captured in 1967...if they offered to release him also in '73, of course Kissinger would have said no. It doesn't mean McCain didn't refuse a similar request in '67 or '68.

McCain refused early release from the Hanoi Hilton in 1968. Henry Kissinger, who became the National Security Advisor under Nixon in 1969, negotiated the release of American POW's in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos from 1971 to 1973.  A NY Times article entitled "An Odd Couple: Kissinger and McCain" 12/19/2007, and one from the Atlantic entitled "Rereading Vietnam" 8/24/2007, specifically state that Kissinger refused early release for McCain in early 1973.

In this case, Cenk is simply asking for clarification or debunking-- he's not actually accusing McCain of anything but simply bringing up the question so people can actually prove it right or wrong. That's not swiftboating but simple investigation. But of course, those without any critical thinking skills wouldn't know the difference.

I don't believe I ever mention you by name but if you admit that you don't know the difference between simply investigating a claim and swiftboating someone, then I'm sorry you felt that you deserved my insult. Cenk was providing the evidence for why the questions could be true but he also provided a rationale for how McCain's story would be true too. It'd probably be better for your case if instead of taking offense at petty matters, you actually investigate and present the facts.
