I'm from California and I love Ultra, you can't compare EDC to UMF they're both different and have there own style UMF poops on EDC as far as the line up goes but EDC has the upper hand on mass 250k people for EDC and 150k for UMF EDC has a more personal experience with the crowd with the arts and vibe UMF just has the music.
