  • One of my best characters in the game <3 she's so cute and funny

  • I love the beginning.

  • @TheSeriousmrkarate Me too. Actually I love all the parts.

  • @jisusa0122 Most Definately.

  • Sounds so disciplined nice I love it!!! <3 ^.^

  • "the wind breaths through her soul as she strikes with her sword"

  • This is SC's adaptation of the traditional chinese song "Water Dance." A fitting version of Xianghua. She is indeed a lotus flower here.

  • This song sucks.

    JUST KIDDING!

(most annoying quote in the game)

  • @wanderlustwarrior Are you serious?!

  • This song would be really fitting for Wang Yao (China) aru LOL!

  • This song makes me wish I was a waterbender :)

  • Reminds me of Shenmue

  • @vivalosbanditos It's the erhu.

  • WHA TO

  • This song is non-stop EPICNESS!!!

  • Love the sc3 ost, characters, weapons, create-characters and the game then 4.

  • Stereotypical chinese music inported in a succesful game for a chinese person = win

  • Out of all the songs for Xianghua, THIS is the best!

It's almost like her songs reflect her personality changing - Bloom and Harvest reflects her being very young, Hubris reflects her growing up yet being depressed over some place being destroyed because she didn't report the truth about Soul Edge to her Emperor, and Water Dance reflects her growing stronger, regaining her happiness and power. The Narrator said it best with "She has found the true meaning of strength."

  • @VaatiOfDarkness Same!

  • It's such a beatiful sound. I've always loved other cultures and their musical instruments but after this opening... I would love an erhu

  • xianghua is my wife, none of you can have her!

  • Is Xianghua Korean or chinese

because Seong-Min'na is a korean name I just wasn't to sure about Xianghua :o

  • @ourangirl1992 Chai Xianghua is Chinese and is from what is now Peking. She was also the weilder of Soul Calibur for a brief time at the end of Soul Calibur 1. She lost the sword in the void within Soul Edge though.

  • @Gravelneed Oh thanks for the information :3 ♥ wait wasn't the original soul calibur called "Soul blade" for psx

  • @ourangirl1992 "Soul Blade" is actually the American name change. The real name is called "Soul Edge". It was the first game in the Soul series. However, it is not nessesarily part of the Soul Calibur games. The series name change going from Soul Edge to Soul Calibur 1 was appropriate because the games play fairly differently and Soul Calibur was definitely the focus of the story. The series order is Soul Edge>Soul Calibur>SCII>SCIII>SCIV

Namco said the next Soul game is in the works.

  • @ourangirl1992 She's Chinese.

  • @ourangirl1992 Xianghua is Chinese, just like Leixia, and Seong Mi-na is Korean.

Xianghua's birthplace is Peking (Beijing), and Seong Mi-na's is Jirisan.

  • sweeet song!!!!

    xianghua my favorite character!!!

  • Kilik: I....I think I lo...

    JUST KIDDING! *screen shatters*

X: *wakes up* OH COME ON!

    ROFL

  • Somehow this song makes me feels pumped up. The stage (Lotus Garden) is just hilarious to play with a friend on training mode or unlimited life. Just spend 5 minutes struggling to ring out fools.

  • I loved how she was the only one that could wield the true image of Soul Calibur; until later versions....

  • So...wheres all the great songs like this is SC4?

    ...no, seriously.

  • imagine ur gf controlling water while dancing to this.

  • xing xing

  • "You must cut your own path through fate." She's always hard when it comes to the story mode. But still <3 Xianghua

  • awesome er hu. :)

  • It is so graceful.

  • Love the Er Hu.

  • Good shall always prevail...

    JUST KIDDIIIIING!

    Me:....What? I don't even...

  • xianghua is chinese but not to be racist or anything ok?

  • Xianghua kinda reminds me of Xiaoyu from tekken... Xianhua the best char n her moves r lik so cool!!!

  • @deathforest1995 Well they're both from Namco, so it'd be safe to think they'd make a few parallels or draw from each other.

Ivy and Taki = Nina & Anna (the femme fatales)

Maxi = Law (more in styles than personality, but both use the Bruce Lee -esque Jeet Kune Do styles)

Yunsung = Hwaorang (both use some style of taekwondo, and generally impulsive)

Talim = Julia (calm, nature-driven individual) etc.

  • Xianghua is just awesome.

her music is awesome, her friends, her weapon, her fight, her costumes. she's my favoriete soul calibur 3 player ever.

  • I'm Into songs more like The Cursed Image and Sail Over the Storm, those are my favorites.......Yeah!

  • I don't know why, but I love this song! It makes the Lotus Garden one of my favourite stages to play in (that and the stage itself is beautiful in its own right)

My other favourite is Mt Fuji. I just love the lava setting in that one. And the music too.

  • xianghua is best soul calibur character

  • Did I zing ya?

  • : )

  • @Tailsflex FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • It's amazing how gameplay can distract from such a beautiful song.

  • I not only appreciate the graphics in a game, also the music and backgrounds

  • love the beginning sounds so calm

  • sounds like a train :D

  • I love this song. The erhu makes it very eloquent :)

  • One of the best songs-NO! THE BEST song in Soul Calibur 3!!!!

  • Xianghua is hot

  • xiabghua rocks

  • I heart Xianghua.

  • Wow !! I hadn't paid attention to it before, this song is AMAZING!

  • The best xianghua theme of the soul series.

  • Awesome theme.

  • I wish she was my girlfriend! xD

  • I now pronounce you man and wife.

    ...JUST KIDDING! :D

  • hey, i just heard that a japanese guy get married oficially with an anime character LOL

  • @Ephraim225 ...

    ...

I so wish Xianghua knew that Xianglian was her sister... :S

  • @Ephraim225 lmao!!!! xD

  • @Ephraim225 That was great!

  • my favourite character and possibly my favourite theme

  • oh so very oriental, I love it

  • its called an ERHU...

  • I love this instrument. What is it called? This is my favorite theme off Soul Calibur III.

  • The instrument is a viola, I believe.

  • @BlackZeroSA

It is either a Koto or a Shamisen

  • @BlackZeroSA no, its not a viola. It's a japanese wind instrument, not sure of its name.

  • @decline6 a chinese instrument called erhu...

  • @BlackZeroSA No, it sounds more like a chinese stringed instrument, like an Erhu, than a western viola.

  • @BlackZeroSA It is an Erhu, not a viola.

  • @BlackZeroSA I'm pretty sure it's an instrument called the "er hu" which is a two stringed instrument that originated in china.

  • @BlackZeroSA ummm, NO.... The Instrument is called the "ERHU"..........

  • @BlackZeroSA actually, it's an erhu

  • @BlackZeroSA

Actually it's an ehru. It sounds similar however.

  • @BlackZeroSA wrong. It's a traditional Chinese instrument.

  • @BlackZeroSA I'd say it isn't, it's some old maybe japanese string instrument made with keyboards nowadays.

  • its called the Erhu

  • Thanks! :-)

  • @vivalosbanditos It's called an erhu. The crazy homeless guy at my subway stop plays one.

  • @JmanNardface

    xD LMFAO

  • @vivalosbanditos

It's a Chinese two string instrument called an Erhu. It's definitely not a viola.

  • @vivalosbanditos

It's actually an Erhu a chinese instrument that's kindof like a violin but looks way different...

  • @vivalosbanditos It's an Erhu ^^ It sounds like a viola, but I think it's an Erhu :3 (I listen to too many Chinese music of Erhu ^^;)

  • @vivalosbanditos It is the chinese instrument called Erhu

  • awesome. this is one of my favs. that and setsuka's theme

  • xianghua's definitley the cutest one in sc, this track suits her... i never really took the time to listen to it

  • this is a beutiful song

  • this is so nice

  • Isn't the Chinese instrument called the Erhu?

  • Best character, best stage, best music!

    XIANGHUA FTW!

  • I'm behind you!!! She's the best!!

  • does anyone else think its too much of a pain to fight nightterror. even if you knock im out he just flies back up again. how retarded is that? god. though on the bright side olcadan is awesome if not a bit ugly.lol. though the fact he changes styles is pretty cool. and his ladt weapon is his first. pretty sweet.

  • Does anyone here know what the name of the instrument is that is played in the first 20 seconds of this song? (I know it plays the lead too, but it's very prolific at the start of the song I think)

Anyone who knows what this instrument is would be very helpful, thank you.

  • sounds like a chinese fiddle. i cant be anymore specific

  • Xianghua's cute. I wanna hug her.

  • I love this one!

  • Nice song.

  • Cute and cheerful... That's why I LOVE this song...
