I have this on video as well.....the problem with the PBA on ABC was, apparently because of the prestigious Wide World of Sports, Pro Bowlers Tour shows *had* to end by 5 pm EST.....the bomb scare meant that we could not view the end. Imagine telling the two NFL Super Bowl teams that they have to end the game at 9:30pm or something.............................Bomb scare or no, what if the final ended in a tie & a roll-off was necessary?
I remember watching this on TV. My parents had to explain what was going on. It was a different day. Watching this reminds me of that day. I find it more comical now. But it was very serious back then.
Man...the TOC must've been like the Super Bowl back then for someone to call in a bomb threat! It's amazing how much the PBA's popularity has gone downhill since.
Yah it was bowling's Super Bowl. It was the biggest and best in all of professional bowling. Winning that event was pretegious as winning golf's Masters.

I remember that ABC didn't show the last match and a half due to time constraints. They had to get the fucking ice skating in!

I was there! It was a pretty calm crowd and everyone evacuated very calmly and timely...Just had to wait it out across the street.
