Love the song, love the Blues Brothers, don't love John Goodman's involvement. And if I was casting the sequel I'd have used used Jim to replace John (either him or possibly John Popper).
The reason they couldn't use Jim Belushi (who initially got famous in the short-lived 1979 CBS TV series "Working Stiffs"), is because he was still under contract to Disney at the time this film was made.
@jws1272 Matt 'Guitar' Murphy is still going strong! As is Tom 'Bones' Malone, Donald 'Duck' Dunn, Willie 'Too Big' Hall, Murphy Dunne (keyboards in the film - Murph & The Magic Tones!) as well as Paul 'The Shiv' Shaffer who played keyboards on SNL with the band but couldn't be in the movie.
Jim Belushi is funny like a toothache. He's not the actor John was, hasn't the charisma John had, hasn't the soul in his voice John had. The rest of the band is *awesome*. Tight as a frogs ass.
@CallumJStewart If it was'nt for Jake blues James would'nt have been famous either,so his career is a leech of his bros name,I dont remember John Goodman in the movie, maybe he was in the trunck of the car.

How come everybody is hating on Goodman? Sure this wasn't his best performance, but he does have a good voice, and is a real good actor.

It's so sad to see Alan "Mr. Fabulous" Rubin (trumpet) in this. He passed away June 8th....only 2 original members left. (Cropper and Blue Lou)
