  • correction, it predates Taj

  • How come everybody is hating on Goodman? Sure this wasn't his best performance, but he does have a good voice, and is a real good actor.

  • I think jim should of been in the blues brothers 2 and not john goodman

  • RIP MR FABULOUS ALAN RUBIN

  • Classic Blues Brothers

  • Love the song, love the Blues Brothers, don't love John Goodman's involvement. And if I was casting the sequel I'd have used used Jim to replace John (either him or possibly John Popper).

    Goodman sounds drunk here.

  • @bonzoscarpetcleaning

The reason they couldn't use Jim Belushi (who initially got famous in the short-lived 1979 CBS TV series "Working Stiffs"), is because he was still under contract to Disney at the time this film was made.

  • jimmy's such a good singer! love this performance

  • John you are THE BEST!!!

  • So Joe Morton's out?

  • Fantastic!

  • This is a good example of blues, soul, and R AND B still going strong. And nobody can match the sound of the Blues Brothers

  • Dan Aykroyd eeehm Elwood really really plays harmonica *.*

Ok, great B-) and so cute *.*

  • Jim does a pretty good job.

  • Elwood is fat as Jake nowadays!

  • mitico jim

  • I don't get the John Goodman thing.. Stick with the Home Depot Ads John.

  • It's so sad to see Alan "Mr. Fabulous" Rubin (trumpet) in this. He passed away June 8th....only 2 original members left. (Cropper and Blue Lou)

  • @jws1272 Matt 'Guitar' Murphy is still going strong! As is Tom 'Bones' Malone, Donald 'Duck' Dunn, Willie 'Too Big' Hall, Murphy Dunne (keyboards in the film - Murph & The Magic Tones!) as well as Paul 'The Shiv' Shaffer who played keyboards on SNL with the band but couldn't be in the movie.

So not just the two then :o)

  • How did John belushi die ? (R.I.P)

  • @csvictory12 Drug overdose. While he was young.

  • rushing that beat drummer damn it!!!!

  • Jim Belushi is funny like a toothache. He's not the actor John was, hasn't the charisma John had, hasn't the soul in his voice John had. The rest of the band is *awesome*. Tight as a frogs ass.

  • Would it have been too much to ask for John Goodman to have learned the words?

  • @CallumJStewart If it was'nt for Jake blues James would'nt have been famous either,so his career is a leech of his bros name,I dont remember John Goodman in the movie, maybe he was in the trunck of the car.

  • @CallumJStewart If it was'nt for Jake blues James would'nt have been famous either,so his career is a leech of his bros name,I dont remember John Goodman in the movie, maybe he was in the trunck of the car. the famous sluuuur of the forgotton lyrics, yes its been done by many a poser and drunk singer from here to the mississippi, complete disrespect.

  • Very good tribute!!!!

  • Good Tribute!!!!! Louie

  • me too; every day

  • GREAT BLUES BROTHERS SOUND, famous organ player (on HAMMOND B3) LEON PENDARVIS, a great moment of rythm'n blues.

  • How cool is John Goodman? And my home boy from Denton, Blue Lou Marini!

  • wow... Jim can sing! I think he's actually better than John and that's saying a lot for the Blues Brothers

  • Pure ecstasy!!!! My, this band is a real living emotion!!!!!!!

  • It would be nice if they make a third movie with Jim to :P

  • I really like this song. And I think Jimmy did a good enough job on it. It was a little fast though. Good work :)

  • John Goodman's voice is like acid to my ears.

I miss John Belushi, but Jim was pretty good in this song. =]

  • Terrific Taj Mahal song based on a song by Kokomo Arnold. Splendid beginning of the first Blues Brothers movie

  • Jim 'n' John Belushi...

  • Jim does ok IMO here of course the original can never be replaced but that goes without saying (even though I said it)

  • john belushi and elwood blues wuz the blues brothers now it's only the blues brother & the band
