Haha, yeah, you can hear it for yourself. Search for the Ray Mercer and Tim Sylvia pre-fight press conference. I don't have a link on me but if you can't find it let me know and I'll see if it's still up. In it Ray, Tim and the promoter were talking about how the bout didn't get sanctioned for boxing, so Ray was given the option of accepting an MMA match. Ray then basically challenged Tim to keep it a boxing match, even though it was under MMA rules, and you know the rest.
Yeah, I watched a couple of his interviews and i can honestly say that he is one of the stupidest and most arrogant persons that I ever heard talking. Every world class fighter he encountered kicked his ass and the guy keeps repeating himself: "I'm one of the best fighters in the world"...He is not that good, he's actually miles away from a world class fighter. I'm from Europe but my advice to Americans is to shoot guys like him in the head, because they are the reason whole world hates them.
He almost submitted Jeff Munson twice in that fight. Once by armbar, and once by triangle choke. He was winning the fight on the feet, and that's why he "stalled" as you say. No one in their right mind would want to give Monsoon a chance to take them down and submit them. He was fighting a smart fight, and that's why he won.
I'm not trying to say he's the best by any means but Ray Mercer had a punchers chance against him and that's what happened there. Also in his fight against Jeff Munson he showed a really good ground game, and Jeff Munson is one of the best HW submission fighters. Tim is a pretty freakin accurate boxer, and has won by head kick KO's in atleast 2 fights. May not be much be he has done it. Also he was the two time champ of the UFC you don't get that just by "catching" someone. He's better than that
he also lost to randy coture after saying that randy has problems with strikers and heavyweights, yeah tim real problem there was you beat glass jawed arlovski and then bored us to death against monson.

Haha, yeah, you can hear it for yourself. Search for the Ray Mercer and Tim Sylvia pre-fight press conference. I don't have a link on me but if you can't find it let me know and I'll see if it's still up. In it Ray, Tim and the promoter were talking about how the bout didn't get sanctioned for boxing, so Ray was given the option of accepting an MMA match. Ray then basically challenged Tim to keep it a boxing match, even though it was under MMA rules, and you know the rest.

Yeah, I watched a couple of his interviews and i can honestly say that he is one of the stupidest and most arrogant persons that I ever heard talking. Every world class fighter he encountered kicked his ass and the guy keeps repeating himself: "I'm one of the best fighters in the world"...He is not that good, he's actually miles away from a world class fighter. I'm from Europe but my advice to Americans is to shoot guys like him in the head, because they are the reason whole world hates them.

He almost submitted Jeff Munson twice in that fight. Once by armbar, and once by triangle choke. He was winning the fight on the feet, and that's why he "stalled" as you say. No one in their right mind would want to give Monsoon a chance to take them down and submit them. He was fighting a smart fight, and that's why he won.

I'm not trying to say he's the best by any means but Ray Mercer had a punchers chance against him and that's what happened there. Also in his fight against Jeff Munson he showed a really good ground game, and Jeff Munson is one of the best HW submission fighters. Tim is a pretty freakin accurate boxer, and has won by head kick KO's in atleast 2 fights. May not be much be he has done it. Also he was the two time champ of the UFC you don't get that just by "catching" someone. He's better than that

Fair enough, however his defeats don't take away from his victories. I mean look at this way Randy lost to the "overrated" Lesnar didn't he? So while Randy was able to prove Tim wrong in that fight it still doesn't deminish Sylvias wins. Also Arlovski doesn't have a "glass jaw" he just got knocked out by more confident heave handed strikers.
