  • what does your alesis micro cue amp do, exactly? (I play guitar, would this be useful?)

  • @stubaru It basically takes 4 inputs (2 channels, left and right each) and has 2 stereo outputs. The volume levels of inputs 1 and 2 are independently settable for each pair of headphones. Is it useful for just guitar? Probably not. But if you had some way of getting your signal to headphone level and you wanted to play along with a synth, drum machine, or stereo, then yes it would be helpful. You can usually get them real cheap these days. New I think I paid $100 for it.

  • Nice studio. Are those walls acousticly treated?

  • @dBguy8 Not acoustically treated in a manner to make the sound better. The room is, I think, a bit too small for treatment. BUT all of the walls and ceiling are acoustically isolated from the rest of the house using channel bars and a separate layer of sound deadening material (can't remember what it's name is but it was a dark brown/blackish color).

  • @minpinful I'm not so sure about that. The label inside of the guitar specifically says "Made in Japan" as does a little sticker on the back of the headstock. Plus a quick google search says production moved from Japan to Taiwan in the late 70's early 80's. The FG375sii's on the other hand were always made in Taiwan. Wherever they were made though is irrelevant as it is a very nice playing and sounding guitar.

  • Such a funny way, you represent your goods. Hope u´r married and can play the ggods you invested money in. NOICE.

  • Man..... Such a cool studio! How much would everything cost? Would be cool to hear your studio record some music...But why do you have a bunch of water above all you equipment? You should let me know the design of you desk and the measurements. Thanks cp!

  • @midwestcat25 Thanks. I built the desk myself. I can send over the dimensions if interested. I've got tons of recordings and songs I wrote, I just figured I don't want to give away my songs and millions of dollars for free :-) The studio is in the basement and the heating system we have has the water pipes like that. There is no real way to relocate them. That being said, I doubt they will ever burst. But if they did, well that would suck. And how much did it cost? Too much.

  • 4:43 ... you talk very funny... you also said Les Paul very funny! but VERY VERY nice studio!!!

  • Hi mate, im from australia and have the chance to buy a yamaha fg-375s would you say its a decent sounding guitar?

  • Yes. I actually really like that guitar. I think it sounds really good to excellent. The one I have I got a real long time ago from the original Japanese production runs. I'm not sure how/where the newer ones are made. I believe I read somewhere that they were made in Korea and are not as good. The one I have though sounds great. Well worth the purchase.

  • very nice. question... what do you do for power managment. I noticed you had one switch that powered each rack. Do you have all that gear plugged into one powerstrip?

  • There are the 2 powered strips, one in each rack with each one powering their rack. The right power unit also powers the powered speakers. This way I can flip one switch and turn on my firepod (or layla) and speakers at once. There really isn't that much of a draw. Those 2 power strips plug into the same circuit. The computer, monitor, keyboards, lights, and drums plug into another circuit. And the amps plug into a 3rd circuit which will occasionally be used for other one off items.

  • would you recomend the kramer i have the chance to buy one for £200

  • I thought I had answered this a while back. No I wouldn't. Maybe I got a bad one but I would spend a bit more and get an American made one.

  • could you use the Echo Layla 24 with windows Vista??

  • I doubt it. I believe the drivers would need to be rewritten for the Vista driver model. A while back they had released the source for the drivers so theoretically someone could do it.

I use the Firepod on XP because of how much easier it is to use over firewire and to me it sounds a bit better/more clear.

  • I have the same AcoustiC!
