They definitely didn't put this shourtcut intentionally. At 0:27 there's an invisible wall and that means VALVe didn't want you to be able to go there.

I knew of something similar in HL1, and I spotted that roof, so I decided to give it a try ^^

haha, i tried it yesterday and it took me about half an hour to get the angle right (totally worth it though), im playing it on the ps3 though and i noticed you seem to be able to redirect gordon as he jumps through the air which for some reason i cant do on the ps3. do you think they put this shortcut in in intentionally?

So, I have no clue for PS3. But if aircontrol is possible on PC, I don't know why it wouldn't be on PS3. And no, I don't think this shortcut was intentionally put here.
