  • you don't need a full range of motion to make for an effective rep. Gymnists normally don't dip anywhere near a full range of motion on alot of the things that they do and look at them. For a 64 year old man I'd say he's doing just fine. Most people after the age of 70 can't life more than 30 pounds overhead without problems.

  • @BIGDADDYJOHNSON27 The gym used to have 40# bars for barbells so it is only 180#. Those bars were all replaced with 45# bars.

  • Just so you know, when you're working shoulders with overhead movements, doing a complete lockout at the top of the movement takes a lot of stress off of the muscles. I'd say that his last rep, where he stopped maybe an inch from lockout, tore more muscle fibers than the other two.
