  • Thats a cool go kart. I like the looks. Bet its a blast!

  • what did you use for the front suspension

  • i have a 16 hp briggs v twin i put over 300 bucks in it it runs like new im trying to sell it give me your cell number i will send you pics of it i need 300 bucks for it i had no probelems with it it cranks one or two pulls i have the pull start for it but you need the blower houseing i have a starter for it they you start it is rape rop on fly wheel no smoke or knocking

  • that shot or measure front and rear wheels are and what size wheels

  • @thex3mezijr Not sure what you mean? I'll try and answer. The fronts in this video are 18 inches tall, the rears are 22 inches tall. The distance between the front and rear axles are 60 inches. Hope that helps. Thanks!

  • The belt attatched to the motor at 0:33, do i have to have that? My motor only has one shaft so i dont know how to attatch the belt. Can i just have a chain connecting the engine sprocket to the drive sprocket? Thanks!

  • @thruthesystem The belt is part of the clutch system. A driver and driven are required and the belt is a specific size to fit between the engine output shaft and the jackshaft. It is important that the belt size be correct or the system won't work properly. There is lots of information out there on the subject. I'm not that familiar with a straight sprocket and chain set up but you may check out some shifter kart websites for more information on that. Thanks!

  • 600 dollars for it

  • @crystal4092 LMAO!

  • does it have rear suspention?

  • @MsAlexmoruz No it doesn't. Hard tail only. I keep the pressure down in the rear tires and have extra padding in the seat! Climbs over just about anything though with the front suspension.

  • you sould put a 16 hp briggs v twin on it

  • @mike555to666 I only wish I could afford one! I was looking at up to a 24hp version if I could make it fit lol!

  • Hey teq.Let me ask this if i may; If you were to run it strictly asphalt ,,,,could a guy gear it to go 60mph and acheive that speed?

  • @mastersduhgree Yes, it originally had that gear set up when I bought it. Little 16 inch tires on the back with a 54 tooth sprocket on the axle. It was scary fast on flat ground but wouldn't take a hill at all.

  • i have to ask you what kind off torque converter brand clutch you have, mine isnt realy that good cause it doesnt want to dissengage half the time but your looks like its puts out quite a bit

  • @whiteboyryan97 The clutch is a Comet brand 40 series. I have the correct belt for the distance from the driver to the driven but found that adjusting the engine distance from the jack shaft tightened the belt slightly which allowed the driven to work much better at lower RPM. You might try this if your engine mount plate is adjustable for a quick fix. A new belt might help you also, look for signs of wear on the sides of the belt to see if your driver/driven allignment is correct.

  • @whiteboyryan97 If you move the engine to tighten the belt, make sure not to go to far or the clutch will not work properly. Also, you may need to remove the clutch driver and lube the unit. Use only a dry Moly lube on this part or it will seize up at high temps. Good luck!

  • ok i am building one but how does a person make a back axle i want it to have shocks is that a smart choice or no??

  • I've been wanting to get somethin like that for a loooong time. How much would somethin like that cost?

  • what size wheels did you use

  • bad asss...

  • wud u put it for sale tale me

  • mine is 200 hp i put a honda civic engine in mine

  • How much was the total cost?

  • @markham94 This was a fun project and I experimented a lot. The front end has over 600 dollars in it alone. So I have to say that after 1200, I stopped keeping track. I could go even further if I wanted because it's just so damn fun building something like this but I'd rather do it from scratch in the future and build something that can handle a larger power plant. Bottom line is I don't really want to know what it cost me in the end. The joy is that it's one of a kind and I built it.

  • How much was the total cost?

  • How much was the total cost?

  • It took about 4 months to get to the point you see in the vid. I've made many more changes especially in the front end to make it more manuverable and sturdy. All in all there's about 9 months of work involved and every bit of it was great fun. I'll try and post another video of the upgraded version soon=)

  • Just expand the description, it's all there

  • @tequilasunrise156 how long did it take you to do all that............yerf dogs are the best

  • What kind of torque converter and jack shaft are you using?

  • nice dude, snowmobile cluth is the way to go if you have the room

  • hands down one sickass go kart

  • that thing is a beast!!! my gokart sucks bawlz

  • Hi i have the same go kart and i would like to know what type of tires they are and did you modify the front a arms

  • @USApunk07 - Those in the video are 22 inch tires which make it go about 40mph. I went back to the 18 inch size for rears because they get up to speed a little quicker. The 18's make it go about 36mph. On the front end I did change out the ball joints for better ones and upgraded to heavy duty spindles to prevent bending. The stock spindles will bend if you look at them wrong. Everything else on the front end is stock and I'm currently looking for some softer shocks. Thanks for looking!

  • LOOKS STORE BOUGHT

  • how was it for corners and drifting? it looks a bit higher then mine. was it tipsy?

  • how fast?

  • @carkids123 Its geared for 36mph right now. I went back to the 18 inch rear tires. that might not sound fast but it gets there quick!!!

  • @tequilasunrise156 I was just wondering because i have a 12 hp manco dingo..ours goes about 35, can you tell me how to regear to make it faster?

  • @carkids123 There is some good information out there on how to do what you're asking. A number of things can be done like different sized tires or jack shaft sprocket and axle sprocket changes. This site has a calculator that will show how your 'top' speed will change. Go to the diygokart website and checkout the speed calculator. Have fun!

  • @tequilasunrise156 how do you regear to make it go faster??

  • @carkids123 smaller sprocket

  • @tequilasunrise156 i got my 8hp briggs up to like 45 - 50 mph with no torque converter and i have a huge sprocket if I geared it down it will go too fast but wont go uphill for shit

  • @seekanddestroy1200 Yeah that's the problem with higher gearing. I have a 10 tooth spocket on the 3/4 inch jack shaft and can't go any smaller there so I went from a 54 tooth to a 60 tooth sprocket on the axle. With 18 inch tires it seems to balance out well. Steep hills will always be a bit rough though. I've been thinking about a bigger motor and a reverse gear box maybe next year.

  • sick. also a sick chevy truck in the background

  • Balllinnneeee Strap a bike engine to taht thannggg and take that rollbar off n drive witha blindfold that be fun

  • @Ethan9OwnZ have another beer for me brother
