A worthy cover in a society of remakes. Plus, I've always thought that Tom's songs could only be covered by a female vocal like Allison's. Tom sings beautifully, it's his unconventionality that most people focus on when first listening to him. I know I did. But when listening further I realized how well of a singer he is, and in my opinion this proves it.
I too saw the Plant/Krauss show a month ago...this indeed was THE showstopper...done perfectly. Robert Plant sat at the edge of the stage just watching her sing this in complete awe. She has THE perfect voice. Thanks for sharing this!!!!
I saw them in Boston Thursday night. It was an awesome show!!! I love this song. She does such a good job with it, almost haunting. At least when she does you can understand the words unlike Waits. He is a great song writer though. Plant was terrific as well. He never disappoints!! I would go again if they came back!
Aha! Finally, another clip from the Rasing Sand tour!
For some reason there have been far far too few clips posted by people from these concerts. Where are the clips of Nuthin', Through the Morning, Through the Night, When the Levee Breaks, Killing the Blues, Black Dog and One Man Woman?
Goddamn that woman has a set of pipes in her.

Saw the show Wednesday nite in connecticut. for me this was the show-stopper. Very very haunting. chill went right through if you know what i mean.
I'm usually a rocker and this was my favorite of the nite. Go figure. And Robert didn't even sing on it.
Gotta love them both for having the courage to go down the others route and maintain the balance at the same time.

I agree! And I notice you're also a Tori Amos fan ;)

Yeah I think Tori is also an amazing artist. And she also is a great singer, but I must admitt that Alison is better.
