@Darusdei Well, Jesus said there was only one way to the Father, and that way was through Him (John 14:6). The Bible also says in Acts 4:12 that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus. So yes - all Bible believing Christians believe that Christianity is the one and only true religion.

The idea behind "Him" being the only way to salvation is that Jesus/God simply represents positive thought and action, doing good simply for the sake of doing good.

I would say its the fact that Charlie perhaps was the more spoiled of the brothers and Martin failed in that even while he himself was and still is a man of great character, but he has always taken the side of his son even throughout his various bouts with addiction. Charlie isn't "crazy" he is just an addict who is ill.
@SciBishop How do you know he's an addict and ill? What do you base this on? AFAIK, there are no known relapses or scandals since he claimed having stopped doing drugs. There's also a difference between use and abuse. Charlie is just a free spirit.
