  • This makes absolutley no sense.

First, a 4 oz serving of oatmeal a day would result in malnutrition after a few weeks.

Second, your off-hand example of mixing the oatmeal with fruit, yogurt, chili (?), increases the cost, who knows how much.

Not to mentione the cost of the energy to prepare the oatmeal.

6 cents a day for sustainance?

    Get real.

A far better option would be raman noodles, rice and beans with some powdered milk.

  • You need more than just oats for a day's nutrition...BUT this is a good video because oats ARE still a very good nutritional budget food even in 2011!! Raw regular oats can be bought for 99 cents per pound at my local health food store...organic oats a little more $1.29 per pound. When I cook 1/2 cup of oats, I use the resulting product for 3 days' worth of breakfast (I am small) and I add walnuts, ground flax and raisins or cranberries. Good stuff!

  • YOU EAT TOO CHEAP,YOU DIE EARLY.

  • Can't hear you very well. I have been listening to these all day and yours is especially quiet.

  • this man is the life of the party :)

  • Would he eat on less than a dollar a day? I doubt it.

  • is there anything oatmeal cant do?

  • I love this. Good job. Thanks for sharing. Oats are so healthy, cheap and versatile.

  • I wear 3 old truck tires when I go out! thanks for the alternative though.
