Man I Love JoJo Mayer In My opinion, amongst the Tony, Lang, Pridgen, and Spears.. I would still call Jojo The most Techincally skilled. Traditional Shall again Rule the drum world if I have anything to do with it.

my god...every time I see this guy play he simultaneously makes me want to throw away my drum sticks and pick them up and practice harder. He makes me feel like a piker.  A real pioneer in advancing drum set technique. For my money the best drummer I've ever seen....with ALL respect to the greats.

From what I can see, most of the better modern drummers are using SONOR drums. Someone made a comment about SONOR hardware being crap there must be some truth in that statement. The guys using SONOR drums seem to use DW hardware. Just an observation.

Now why on earth would he change from Sonor, which is clearly superior to Pearl in every single way? Think people think! Because your favourite albeit lame artists use Pearl doesn't mean it's great, it also doesn't mean Jojo should switch either. He is happy with Sonor's superior product and the family atmosphere. Why would he go anywhere else?

sonor are ALOT better then pearl. the reason he would ever probably think of switching is because both company's are signature for that deep-fat tone they give. but only reason i personally could see for him switching is for endorsement deals(witch jojo doesn't need)

he probably had no choice. If you wasn't booking and travelling enough they may have dropped him.. They love you until you want time off or refuse to be controlled by your sponsors. Greg Bisonette was with Yamaha-Pearl and now -Ahh crap I can't remember the name of the drum company. Anyway-you get my point.

A lot of really amazing artists use Pearl drums. Virgil Donati/Daniel Adair. My friends dad is the rep for Pearl and was actually the guy who got Daniel Adair his original Pearl endorsement. Daniel was recently on his way to DW when Pearl stepped in and gave him a bunch of money and told him he could design his own signature snare. I've also seen interviews with Chad smith saying he records with Gretsch drums and would never leave pearl because of how "Generous" they are.
