Surrounds produce many types of sounds, such as dialog, explosions, music etc. so saying that we should have Surrounds with only a mid-range cone is not good advice! My Surrounds are big speakers with a bass cone, a mid-range, and a teeter, so they have amazing sound. When I listen to the opening of Transformers 2 when demolisher hits those big concrete pipes and there is gun fire and explosions going off in the surround speakers I hear that perfectly!

@bobman0964 What kind of equipment you have matters less than how its set up and balanced. When it comes to equipment, it comes down to what your preference is and what you can afford. Calibration and and set up are everything. For instance, I have ADS L77s as my fronts (made in '86 but still sound great), a JBL PSW 1000 as my LFE and a CSW Center Channel, CSW Dipole surounds and a CSW Bass Cube 8 connected to my center channel. Not expensive, but sounds great because it's balanced correctly.

nice video, but I notice you use different kinds of speakers, I was told to use the same makes of speakers so you get an even sound tone, and also the surround speakers should be at ear level when you sit down, the ones you to are way too high, having them at ear level at either side of the couch (at a seated position) would sound a whole lot better (chanel sepration), that;s true cinema sound.

I hope u are kidding.if you are not, buy a basic 2 channel amp, any junk will do.Just take the audio out from your box,be it the digital out or analog and plug into amp, hook you speakers to amp, pump your sound out of amp,plug in box direct to tv. Option 2, hook box straight in to tv, take audio out of tv plug into amp run sound through amp.since you have a pair of speakers you only need two channels of amplification.

Ok, I'm not professional in this area but a enthusiast, and this video sucks ass. You can find 2-way speakers which are more better than coloring your sound with louzy 3-way speakers. Throw in a different type of center speaker with small rear speakers and your loudspeaker-mess is set.

true the 3 way offers good bass response at high volumes, but with a subwoofer you can actually hit notes that a 3way can't. adding a subwoofer for dedicated low notes will improve your sound experience.
