  • thnks man, i didnt know how to tune to drop Db, it was frustrating but thank you for that video that helped man

  • Hey, I'm using the same Korg. Does anyone know what causes the tuner to respond to the higher frequency string when 2 sucessive strings are struck at the same time ? I am curious to find out as to whether the Signal Processing software in the tuner is programmed to ignore the lower note. My first thoughts were that harmonics or interference patterns caused it, but thats obviously not the case.

  • @gotrickrolled1ce WOW, well glad it helped u out, your welcome!

  • thx

  • you can use digital guitar tuner 2.3 but i'm not sure if it's accurate because if your mic sucks then it's inaccurate

  • Dude I just sent my daughter in England this because skype did not cut it for tuning her guitar I know she is just learning guitar, but I have noted this lesson for when she starts playing songs like bron ya aur and the like. My English Rose will blossom! Cheers for this got to got get me another one!

  • @nearvana2003 well glad this could help! thanks so much for the comment :D

  • I Have ben served Sir! Thank you! Bless you! So thrilled to have this lesson!

  • @quixxxie2000 well glad U liked it!

  • Great tutorial

  • Can any chromatic tuner go to the alternative settings?

  • @TheNitram44 yes....some are just more accurate than others...

  • @scbene hey dude i have a question is 440 the same caliberation for an acoustic?

  • @guitarfreak651 i believe so....

  • @scbene I picked up one of these babys to tune my guitar to different tunings. When I tune it down to something different than standerd tuning, it goes into the green for a second and then goes all over the place. Do I have to change the calibration or something. I play an electric by the way.

  • @TheRitzyRedneck what string gauge are you using? and how low are you tuning?

  • @scbene I think there 9's and Im playing a 7 string with a low b string in standard tuning. Im trying a full step down tuning (A-with a seventh string-D G C F A D). Do I need to do anything or is my tuner acting funny?

  • @TheRitzyRedneck as long as it is set to 440Hz you should be able to tune to ANY note. it is a CHROMATIC tuner right?

  • @scbene Yes, it says its the CA-1 chromatic tuner.

  • on the boss pedal, there is a normal output and one that says bypass, what exactly is the difference?

  • @tonyborbony i believe bypass cuts the output while you are tuning...

  • @scbene so, you can actually decide whether you want the pedal to cut your signal or not while tuning... Interesting... xD

  • wat if i wanted to play like wildwood flower. like how do u set the calibration

  • heey!! thats a digitech rp-250? you know what the difference is with the RP-250 and the RP-255? and do you think its good?? and by the way was that guitar a Epiphone/Gibson custom alpine white?

SORRY ITS NOT ABOUT THE TUNER!!

    btw great video!!

  • @FreaquedeMusique yes, I use an RP250, the 255 has a 20 second looper and a few more cabinet models and effects, but they are pretty much the same thing. They are both EXCELLENT processors. I use mine on ALL my videos. the guitar was an ESP (LTD) EC-500 in Alpine White :) thanks man, glad U liked it!

  • great lesson, buddy. keep it up. :-)

  • do you have to plug it in cause mine doesn't have a place where you can plug a cable in?

  • yeah, for an electric guitar you will have to plug it in...

  • no i mean for like an acoustic guitar or other strings?

  • for acoustics you don't have to plug it in...

  • For this tuner does it play the sound of all the scale, for example could i get all the sounds for open b (B F# B F# B D#) and tune that by ear?, or would i have to guess the sound and hope it pops up on the LED to tune it correctly. Because i wanna tune straight from standard to open b.

  • @MrLawliet1992 yes, it displays whatever note is being pumped into it :P

  • XD sweet thanks man

  • not for acoustic :P

  • no u dont its just a bit more accurate if u can

  • Thx 4 the info. He'll write that down so he'll rem. He imform me that he already as a " boss". He'll peg away at it. From: G.L.

  • gklad you said your screen name. ive always wandered how that was supposed to sound

  • @ greeneyepitbull, LOL yeah I get that alot! HA!

  • scbene i have my new CA-30 Korg and I want to tune my guitar to standard tuning...but i'm really having a bad time to tune it...PLEASE HELP...i have this thought to return the product....

  • if you have it set to 440Hz (A) you should not have any problems. use the Calib buttons to tune it into the correct frequency. i have never had any problems with mine :)

  • hey would a korg GA-1 work for these tunings?

  • hmmm, i took a look at it and i dont think so. looks like a standard tuner.

  • @scbene hey man can you use any strings for drop b?

  • no, you will want at least a set of .013 - .054 or so strings, VERY THICK! you will also have to get your guitar set up to accept such tension on the neck of the guitar.

  • @scbene thanks cause im trying to do this for my acoustic, btw this chromatic will read out for drop b Eb Ab Db Gb Bb eb?

  • yes it will :)

  • not a bad video. i just watched it cuz im bored lol but my amp makes it a LOT easier because it has a tuner on it and if u know the tuning like CGCFAd or Db Ab Db Gb Bb eb then u just look and... well i'll do a vid if you wanna see its a lil hard to explain in words lmao

  • Do you tighten the strings or loosen the strings to get to the notes? Because you can go either way.

  • im using a korg GA-30 :( lol

  • me 2 ;D

  • im using a Korg LCA-120 Chromatic Tuner and its really hard to work i set it to Focus tune mode and i and trying to tune my electric guitar to standard tuning. wen i pug the chord into the tuner it picks up the sound but after i play an open string it always picks it up as a G i dont understand y!!!!!

  • lol. "Technology is my friend"

  • my guitar is a steel string acoustic if that helps

  • how do i tune guitar to standard tuning with this tuner? i just bought it today and i have no idea how to use it!! i got myguitar proffesionally tuned but when i tested it with the tuner my E string comes up as a Bb or something! do i have to play around with the calibration? PLEASE HELPPPPP

  • i have mine calibrated to 440Hz and it works for standard tuning.

  • I have mine to 440 also and it works fine....

  • what do i need to have on drop c

  • u can leave it set to 440 Hz as well.

  • haahaha using a tuner is fing easy, i got it for the first time with no exlain at all and i already know how it worked, damn u should sell your guitar

  • yea i have an 11 i think cuz i use ernie ball power slinkies

  • Set the intonation.

  • how. sorry im not good with these things

  • Either get it done professionally, or check this video:

    watch?v=GZVRCMJLnm4

  • HEY when ever i tune the top string it sounds SO out of tune

  • what gauge string are U using. you need at least a .011 gauge set for Drop C to sound OK and not be wobbly.

  • yea i have an 11 i think cuz they are ernie ball power slinkies

  • and what Hz number should i use for drop c

  • you can still use 440 as the reference point, i do :P

  • hey how do u get to drop c with the korg ga-30

  • Tune from low to high CGCFAD

  • where can i see how the standard tunning on the tuner is?

  • Thanks alot .

I tune drop C alot. But i was confused on Db because i toght the tuner would say C#G#C#F#A#D# but i learned its Bb eb.. insted if A#D#

  • Comment removed

  • how can i get standard tunning?

  • wonnab123>>from low to high EADGBe

  • I recently was lended a Korg from a friend I wasnt sure how to use it being a extremely new guitar player, i still am having trouble but this helped somewhat. Im with joeyh360, Im using

  • Tapped enter by accident... Im using a old acoustic guitar, still having a lot of trouble on where to start learning how to play. I got new strings put on my guitar yesterday and got it tuned, i ran it through the korg it was giving me wrong readings and i was stupid and started fooling around with it. HOW DO U GET THIS THING WORKING RIGHT LOL

  • yes, it can do acoustic guitars too. has a built in mic. make sure it is set to 440Hz before tuning.

  • hi, i think i might have assidentally bought the chromatic instead of the standard tuner. Is there any way i can still tune the guitar to standard settings with the chromatic tuner? I would appreciate it if you could tell me. :)

  • yes, just leave the sample frequency set to 440Hz and you can calibrate standard that way.

  • ok thank you. So does this mean i just leave it at 440Hz and just tune? Sorry, im new to chromatic tuners, ive always used standard tuners but just decided to try a chromatic tuner.

  • yes, that should work just fine :D

  • why does it matter what number is next to the Hz. im confuse please answer back

  • that is the reference point of the tuner. 400hz is an A note which is the beginning of the tuning scale, so it lets the tuner know how to drop down to each key when you are tuning.

  • ok thanx but when i tuned the top string to c the line was on green but the string sounds so out of tune

  • can that korg ca-30 tune acoustic guitar? i would really be happy if it could.

  • yes it can. has a built in mic for acoustics :)

  • dude thx soo much i hated the CA-30 cause i thought it was bad but it was set to 414Hz....thanks soo much

  • glad this helped me412fan! yeah, mine was accidentally set to 441Hz, but that did not throw it off much. i fixed it after this video :)

  • could you explain the diffrence between Eb & E#? Reason I ask; I have never seen E# on my CA-30 only Eb.

  • well to tune to E# you would probably want to use a capo on the 1st fret. your tuner is not going to read out to E#.

  • Very helpful, thanx bro

  • ty so much im a 15 yr old guitarist and ive been playing for 3 years and always avoided playing out of standard this video rly helped seeing how i also have the korg ca-30

  • your welcome jmorepower22! so glad the tutorial helped you out :)

  • my tuner can only tune to standard =S

  • how can i tune to c using a standard tuner?

  • c# i meen

  • i dont believe U can. you would have to do it all by ear.

  • very nice man ^^ awesome vid I have a same tuner well I dont know if same mark and thing but it looks alike and its a chromatic tuner thanks for the vid you always have inspiration and Do awesome vids But I have a request can you make a lesson video and explain to begginers like me what its Drop c? or drop D? or those drops .. Oh yeah and how To tune your guitar in that drops ^^ thanks man and keep it up .. your biggest Fan HellsingKid :D

  • thanks man! the Drops are pretty basic. Drop D is just dropping the 6th string to a D. Drop C is taking a already tuned Drop D and lowering every string one whole step until you have CGCFAd from low to high. thanks for being a fan dude! keep ROCKIN!

  • always the biggest fan of you ^^ and Thanks for the explanation Il understand The rest in time when I learn more And thanks again You rock man No doubt

  • can you use this for tuning an acoustic?

  • you can use the Korg tuner (has a built in mic) but not the BOSS unless it's an electric acoustic.

  • ok perfect thanks alot

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you so much for showing how to tune drop Db cuss Ihad no Idea haha

  • your welcome PrinceUtena, so glad the video helped out some people :P

  • omg ! i tuned my guitar !!! cheers m8 !

  • nice video. tnx for that. u better add a video "how to tune guitar using natural harmonics" using not tuner but distortion and ears(even not musical) :) i think that will be helpful too.

  • Good info Shane! Man you should do a walk through vid for your pedal board. It looks nicely put together! I love those kinds of vids! rock on man!

  • thanks Vince! maybe i should do that :)

  • Heyy i got the same KORG tuner too they work great lol

  • if i didnt know how to tune alt.-tunings i really would prefer THAT tutorial! nice one!! 5/5

  • hey thanks man! i am glad this helped out some people. not everybody plays in these tunings. thanks for the "5" as well dude! ROCK ON!

  • Wow! This was actually a great lesson!

  • hey, thanks shawn!

  • Wow! How did this escape my subscription box!?

  • thanks this helps me alot great vid

  • your welcome neroflame! so glad it helps you out :)

  • Do you have any cover in D standard tuning?

  • no, i sure don't. i think the only song i have ever played in D standard tuning was Sad But True by Metallica :)

  • Thanks alot scbene!

    This helps alot!

But may I ask an other thing?

Wich is : What do you do wo the MHz? And can I just use my 0.10 strings for this tuning?

    Thanks in Advance!!

  • without seeing the frequency your set at you will have to most likely tune by ear. you can probably do Drop C# with .10 but not Drop C. your strings will be extremely unstable and wobbly. i use 0.11 gauge on all my guitars that i tune that low and they work great :)

  • *bows* ;)

  • wow shane this is great. You went all out with this and i really appreciate it. It helped me sooo much and ill bet it has helped alot of other musicians as well. Finally i can play Weight of the World! ha.

Well thanks alot man, yyour did a great job. Cant wait for your next collab!

  • hey Marcos your welcome dude. you have been supporting me from a LONG time ago so it's the least i can do. i always appreciate your comments man. and really glad i made this well enough to help you out. ROCK ON MY FRIEND :)
