you're def. right. being a bulls fan, it was hard seeing the way skiles used him. in detroit, he didn't have to guard the best post player most of the time 'cause rasheed did that. he was used best as a help defender. most blocked shots aren't made on the initial defender, but by a help defender. and that's what ben did best. not taking away from his on the ball defense, but he was one of the best help defenders in the league, if not the best.
