LOVE IT, just bought the pipes and having then installed thanks dude, love the sound, I have owned 3 harleys sportster's brand new, and all of them where in the shop every 3 months,,assembled in america made in china,,so why not go honda,,I have more fun on my rebel than I ever did on my harley, all I had was problems,,now I am looking at the fury,,next bike,,but love my suped up mini bike,,and thanx for the vid I really was hoping for one like this so I could hear them peace,,ride on
I'm going to put an end to this re-jetting thing right here; right now! While it is necessary to re-jet in some cases when changing pipes I can assure you that this bike has been checked by a licensed, qualified mechanic. He ran the appropriate tests on my bike and assured me that everything is tweaked to perfection. In addition, one cannot listen to a bike especially, on a video and make a statement that it needs re-jetting. This simply is not true. In my case this bike did NOT need it!!!
@mxkingy All you have to do is pull the plug and look at it. You determine fuel condition by the color. Sometimes those certified mechanics don't do their job, don't always take their word for it. If you're just swapping the exhaust with a new one of the same type, you'll be fine. Where it becomes an issue is when you are installing a stronger or tuned exhaust. Higher temps need more fuel. Notice how some people's pipes are blue? They didn't rejet.
@mxkingy yes it sounds perfectly fine, paladain55's ears know nothing about a lean running bike. Also, in most cases slip ons do not require jetting/fuel map tuning as you're still using the stock headers. sounds great man, like a triumph's twin. clean bike, i'm trying to get one for super cheap as a beater :p
@mxkingy Your bike sounds fine. If it were lean it would cough when you rev it. An engine is an air pump. You cannot get any more out than you can get into it. If you put different air filters on it, that allowed more air into the motor, then you would probably need to rejet, depending on what altitude you ride at.. The important thing is that the air -fuel mixure is 15 to 1.
@curly27784 What would you say about excessive popping on deceleration? My mechanic has filed my pilot jet, which has helped a little bit, but now my bike cuts off after about 10 mins of riding once the bike has warmed up,
@HondaRebellion These pipes are rumblers. In other words, they are supposed to pop on deceleration (not backfire). These pipes are even called "Jardine Slash Cut Rumblers." Hope this info. helps.
@CmoreBuhts It just doesn't run at peak performance because the engine will run hotter. However, over a long period of time it could cause piston and cylinder damage. It's best to have it checked by a certified mechanic after you have put them on.
Did you have any trouble keeping these pipes on your bike? Have you had any problems with the mounting brackets buzzing through? Broken bolts? Did your pipes come with rubber bushings or washers to mount with? Mine have been a real pain in my hunch.Still trying to work it out with Jardine.
I didn't have a problem at all. These were installed 3 years ago and I have put about 4-6,000 miles on it since installation. I cannot remember what mounting hardware came with it but a lot of people forget to put gasket seal around the head. If your problem is pipe mounting have you considered going to a hardware store and getting some additional bolts that may be a better fit? Just a thought. Hope this helps.
Took all of about 30 minutes and bolted on easily! Nothing really to remove except a small triangle plate on the left side that held the factory exhaust on. It really is a simple job. However, be sure to buy some gasket seal and some bikes need to be rejetted. Mine did not. Hope this helps.
Any after market pipes are expensive. However, I feel that they are truly worth it. I did not rejet and haven't had a problem after 3 years and 18,000 miles later. It purrrrsssss like a kitten.
No idea dude, not very I wouldn't think, it's loud enough as it is WITH the baffles without I imagine it would be very similar to a big chainsaw... at high speeds anyway.
nice bike dude ive got to where ear plugs when i go on exstended trips, my bike is a 1986 rebel 450,but with the same pipes, there very loud, probally louder than yours,it would be real close, ride safe and always look out for the other drivers, loud pipes saves lives.
How do they sound on the highway? Someone else told me that they have to wear earplugs while in the higher RPMs especially on the highway. i was just wondering if this was true. It looks and sounds(at idle) much better by the way.
How much did the mileage go down after conversion ? Looks great.
youtoober808 1 month ago
@youtoober808 I didn't really see much of a mileage loss. Maybe a mile or two a gallon. Not really sure.

Very nice. Were they just bolt on in place of the stock? Did you have to remove or modify anything on the right side? (like the passenger footrest)
I really want a set for my 2004 Rebel 250

what do they cost and do they fit on a honda rebel 125cc
americanfotballnr78 2 years ago
They don't fit a 125cc. To my knowledge they don't make these pipes for the 125cc. Cost of these pipes for the CMX 250cc Rebel are $353.95

ok thanks fore the info :-)

i am the proud owner (and restorer) of a 1985 Rebel 250, and i was wondering if anyone can recommend some nice and cheap mufflers/exaust tips.
ihave5issues 3 years ago
Unfortunately, cheap exhaust really doesn't happen. However, these Jardines are reasonable for what you get. Good luck in your search.
mxkingy 3 years ago
Nice! Will these fit an 09 rebel? How easy is the install?
Thanks@
kslagerman 3 years ago
Yes. These fit an 09. The pipes were installed in about 35 minutes. Very easy intallation. Hope this helps.

should also probably tell him to rejet
carsnwomen91 3 years ago
Rejetting isn't necessary on these pipes.

if they are slip ons, forget about my comment. i always think cruiser exhausts are full systems, just always made sense to me. either quiet or loud.

Yeah..I wear earplugs when going on longer trips. The pipes are loud but in town it doesn't really pose a problem.

I got a 2000 Rebel 250 and I have been looking at some pipes and these sound bad ass for a rebel there the best sounding pipes I have heard so far.

Thank you my friend. These pipes are loud and rich sounding and I really like them too.
