Sacral chakra is in the testicles? What? Lol, It's not. Sacral chakra is in the same zone as in the woman's. Also, don't picture chakras as clear and light, picture the first 3 chakras in a pale tone. Bright or dark tones cause negative effects on you, like extra anger or emotional reactions.

Chakra don't "close" nor "open". They're always rotating horizontally, like bands in your body. You can follow my advice or this person's and see which feels better. I'd advise you doing a lil research.

This is the best chakra explanation ever. I always had problems especially with where the root chakra is located, now I know. Thank you for all your teachings. I am writing everything I learn down. I am an african shaman student and I want to learn more about other ways so i can help in many ways and not be limited only in our ways. Im also learning about runes and made some for myself. We africans use bones to do readings but I want to learn other ways on that. Thanks again.

Why is it that some videos such as this one I can not hear the sound while on almost all others I can? I know this is more of a techy question than a wiccan one but I thought I would put it out there and ask anyway. Perhaps it is something about the configuration of the sound. I watch a lot of youtube videos and this has only happened to me on three of them so far. This one is the third. If you have any suggestion for me as how I can get the audio working I'd be much obliged.

Chakras are slowly being accepted into multiple practices, not just Hindu medicine, although it originates in Hindu medicine. All in all, chakras are discussed because people feel like discussing them. Walls separating systems of belief and practice are imaginary.

@Grayhatt the concept is found in virutally every religion and culture. The Druids had three centers. The Hindus have 7 chakras. The Qabalah has chakras in the body (sephiroth) and thats Judeo-Christian. Voodoo has them. Sufism in Islam has them. Chinese and Japanese medicine and philosophy has them. The chakras, life-force, concept of the aura etc is found in Latin America, African tradition, Judiasm, Islam, China, Japan, Australian Aborigines, etc. Also, Wicca is a blend of many traditions

The term "witch doctor" was used as a prejorative by early missionaries (mostly in Africa) against traditional healers.

Also the term "witches" doesnt necessarily refers to Wicca.

Good technique, that I have never learned before, though it does seem familiar.

The one thing I find od about the Chakra system is that the colours do not match (in most vases) to the ing or Queen scale of colour of the 10 sephiroth of the Qabala.

i often wonder about chakra cos ive read that when you have done using them you close them down to restore them so that you are balanced and grounded? like if you leave the crown chakra open then you are suseptable to the flow of energy from anything from the spirit world overwhelming you???? is this not always the case?

Oh geez, I would never close the door on a chakra. Shutting a door closes the flow of vital energy into the body that helps us keep our balance on a daily routine. There are better ways to execise this energy source than by closing a door.

I understand the need to not be flooded with excess energy, but shutting a door and closing down a chakra is a sure way to loose balance in your life.

I had a similar concern when watching this. I think it is unwise to completely shut down a chakra; it is important that energy be able to flow properly through the body.

That isn't to say its not useful to be able to gage how open one wants to be in different situations, or that have practice working with opening them isn't useful. Just that leaving them closed (or too open) can be very harmful.
