i noticed you went from the gt6 ... then gt10 .........now your going back to stomp boxes? I noticed you said "tone sucking" Do you mean it sounded artificial to you and you want more of an analog feel? interesting because I have the gt6 and complained about the very same thing!! I be interested in what you use now!!!! Do you think it could be the preamp i normally cut it off and run the fx!!!
i used to run the gt-10 through 4 cable method and turn all effects and eqs noise supressors off and it still affected my amps tone by 10-15%, probably beacuse of the line having to go through lots of parimeters and gates etc of the gt-10. at the end of the day i want to get the most out of the jsx as it cost a bit and is the core of my sound, illl post avideo of my new pedals soon it should be straight forward, thanks
hey there, im intrested in buying the peavey jsx (as soon as i can raise the funds) but was just wondering, is it possible to play semi-quietly with it for home practice without sacrificing hugely on the tone?
i play my guitar everyday in my apartment at volume 1/2 and it is super sweet on all the channels thats why i bought this amp, marshalls need to be loud for good gain but my jsx just sounds amazing a low volumnes
no problem all my videos are at 1/2 level to get an idea, ill be posting a new setup vid soon as i sold the boss gt-10 and have replaced it with some stomp pedals for simplicity and less tone sucking
ok my amp only hase 2 chanels for the crunch and I have got the crunch the way that sounds best for my set up. what do you have your clean chanel on your amp head set as? btw 5*s
something that would improve any small bass amp would be a compressor(for sustain) pedal and a graphic eq( for fat tone) pedal as you can emulate a big amp/speaker system in a small setting, on a budget, get behringer pedals they sound good for your money
Any Idea what a good set up might be for a Noob Bassist on a budget?
Like, maybe just a Pedal/Amp or Pedal/Cab Set-up, nothing too big, just something that'll make due until I can afford a Serious amp, cab, pedal, and the lot.
I play a Peavey Milestone II 4 string if it helps any.
gt-8 and gt-10 etc have digital distortion modelling, whereas the boss ds-1 and jsx etc are anologue distortion which is much more natural and has alot more tonal qualities, i dont use any disortion/amp modelling from the gt-10, i recommend that to everybody, check out my stomp box comparison video
thanx so very much!!! i just got a marhsall blues breaker 2 pedal so i thought "what the hay! why dont i do a comperison/review of my stomp boxes" so ill have it up soon hope you get a chance to see it
BTW it think i saw some other behringer pedal in your other vids, was that a DM100?
Anyways sweet playing.
Since you love satch and all that..Do you know what harmonic he pulls in Always with..yada yada...You the one the jumps out..I think its on the six fret b string but it sounds like 21 or so.
Question for ya ! Are you running the amp with EL34s , or 6l6s ? Also, what preamp tubes U using ? I have heard that the JSX is far more responsive to tube changes than most on the market due to its circuitry and active EQ. Some swaer it can make or break the amps tone, so I was curious as to what U are using and if you have experimented. Keep Rockin bro ! Riffin
im running Four EL34s and four 12AX7s which is standard for the jsx head, although itested many amps before i chose this one as i found that putting a parametric eq through the effects loop and setting the channels active eq's depending on the venue etc did the trick for me tone wise.
there are so many more things to TONE than people think from tubes, fingertips, technique.i might experiment with tubes in the future although im very happy with how ive set things as it took me a year of constant testing and buying products to get what i want in a loud and quiet setting, thanks
why the behringer to instead of the sd 1?

Good to see some stompbox fans!!!
I'm trying to convert people to the massive advantage of a stompbox pedalboard over a multieffects.
Boss BCB-60 is a really good pedalboard to use!

T:6 M:2 B:4 GAIN:8 VOLUME:4

Awesome RIG, great tone. I'm running a boss GT 8, why do u use the DS1. Doesn't the GT10 have that?

i dont use the dm100 anymore, the "thick" sound is probably due to alot of things maybe delay also
thanks
