Hobbit is a great book. SMAUG!!! I never read LOTR, the text in it is just so heavy. Tolkien was a great storyteller, but his text is so fucking detailed it's very hard to read IMO. Maybe after Hobbit 1 and 2, Jackson could make a movie about the early days of Middle Earth when Sauron still had his full form :)

Jackson is just turning it into a predictable hollywood piece of crap, with no connection to the way the reader feels while reading. Legolas is as far from Tolkiens discription of mirkwood elves as could be dreamed by hollywood. Candy covered crap. LOTR & hobbit RIP.
