The thing is Windows 8 PCs look like they'll be able to boot up really quickly, and the MacBook Air can boot up in 20, so we're seeing regular OSs boot up quicker and quicker. HTML used to be akin to a document. Google want us to see it more and more as a platform. Truth is: You can do more on an iPad than you can on a Chromebook, and iPads are far cooler.

don't get a chrome notebook, get an ASUS laptop with Express Gate, boots up in about 3-4 seconds. That's booting with Express Gate, but these computers have Windows installed on them, too.

i really don't understand why anyone would buy a chrome notebooks. you can get a 400$ laptop that will run every windows program of any distro of linux why would i limit myself to the chrome os limitation. Not everyone is always in range of wifi or want to use the 3g every time i want to use the computer.

Chromebooks in my opinion are pretty weak (i don't like them) but that is because i like to have my Files stored Locally and because i don't want to be unable to access files on a Chromebook simply because i have no way to connect to the Internet and i would like if there was an option to connect to a Network Connected drive from home or anywhere else (if its not an option already).
