  • Looking back?! He's been playing the same old boring songs over and over for over 40 years now! Used to like him but turn my stomach to listen to him today.

  • @ejgiv They are only boring to people who have poor taste in music. shit, he could just sing 1 song over and over again and i wouldnt complain at all. Such good music and it represents southern american society from the 60s 70s and 80s perfectly

  • @bringinhomesara Product of the big record companies who control the market. JT a minimal talent.

  • @ejgiv well i guess 95% of people are stupid because 95% of people like JT. or maybe 5% of the population is retarded?

  • the interviewer is a joke. James had to put up with that?

  • very uncomfortable

  • james seems uncomfortable.

  • Everything is relative Suzeism. Ole JT is still HOT in my book!

  • wow he was hot when he was young

  • It's Jools Holland, fantastic music show host, pianist and music promotor from UK.

  • thanks for posting this! i am trying to use this video for a research paper. can you tell me where it is you found this video?

  • I can't help you with that ... I've recorded those tv shows with a harddisk recorder. You can't find them anywhere else on the internet than on youtube.

  • he jst asked ''was that John Lennon on the base''? Is it just me, or was Jools making one hack of a mistake? Its so great to see how little time effected James' voice and the way he acts...

  • Probably he was joking, it looks like Lennon playing bass, but obviously not. :-)

  • Leland Sklar is a well renowned bassist who's been with James for many years and with others as a live and session bass player.

  • James has used Jimmy Johnson as his bassist for the last 10 years or so......Leland was the bassist in the early days for James.

  • He's a genius!

  • The greatest thing about JT is that he never feels obligated to be anyone or anything other than himself. And of course, that's plenty. What a contrast with Jools Holland, his interviewer here, who always feels compelled to be in everybody's face, always proving himself. (You'll know what I mean if you've seen him perform.) If only the rest of us could give ourselves the self-approval, the permission just to be, that JT gives himself.

  • Thank you, erikmeijs, for posting this. I listen to his voice, singing or talking, and I'm back in Nantucket in July, the smell of blueberry muffins in my nostrils, and a Sam Adams lager in my hand.
