  • 1:01 its vassily ziatsev LOL

  • And the scene where the Unteroffizier reads his letter from home...his women has left him for a French Prisoner of War. Ha ha ha ha.....all this soldier would have to do was write or tell the authorities about this and she would have been arrested. This movie is a total joke.

  • My dad fought in WWII as a combat vet. He did not speak badly of the German soldiers. He said most of them were drafted just like him.....as fodder to have their asses, balls and lives thrown away for someone making profits and desiring medals at the expensive of the average guy. During the next war, all soldiers should turn on their masters and blow their brains and balls off! Start from the top and work down with the leadership.

  • a very good war anti war movie!

  • Were those people peeking from the windows at 2:22 supposed to happen? They dont look like soldiers...

  • @feroz0307 .

yeah, is sad but maybe is watching the food, please read history books, in the hearth of soldiers russians is not Stalin.

  • @feroz0307 Its meant to show that the fighting in Stalingrad was very close quarters and had no defined front line. Sometimes no mans land was a wall or the next building over.Gains and losses there were defined in meters, not kilometers. Vasily Chuikov instructed his soldiers to get as close to the Germans as possible, to negate the Wehrmachts air and artillery support.

  • again subtitles would be nice

  • SONG - Тёмная ночь [Tyomnaja Notch] - dark night (it is dark outside)

  • Thank you

  • Thank you man, i been looking for the name of the song

  • auf myvideo sind die anderen teile online ;)

  • This movie is a poor representation of what actually happened. They did not show that mother and child being gunned down when crossing the street.

  • architectdesigner11 there is 2 things about the woman and child

1: Not all Wehrmacht would kill Russians straight away (otherwise that kid would be dead).

2: Even if they did want to kill them, the Wehrmacht soldier was smart and disciplined enough to not fire so he wouldn't give away his position.

  • Perhaps if they were disciplined and professional enough they would have the sense never to march into Russia and try to achieve a totally unattainable objective.

  • The soldiers did not decide to attack Russia or any other country, Hitler decided that even against the advice of the High Ranking officers of the OKH and OKW. Hitler (the one who decided to attack Russia) was an idiot, but you've got to admit that the Wehrmacht was a very skillful and professional army that was a head of it's time and had officers with excellent grasps on strategy and warfare.

  • indeed but mother russia still prevailed however hitler proved that he was a terrible leader and basically neutralized any advantages the whermact had by making them go fight in a city house to house man to man they were not ready for that at all they were unstoppable out in the country side because thats where bliztkrieg could be used but in a place like stalingrad they were sitting ducks and hitler basically killed his entire elite army the whermact in a single battle a shame

  • that is true the wehrmacht were their to fight not kill innocent.the shutzsraffel did that.

  • Airbornerock , the Nazi's hated "slavs", not evey single German did however. The Nazi's wanted to kill all Eastern people and the majority of the war crimes commited were by either Einsatzgruppen's or the Waffen SS. The Einsatzgruppen were essentially 'field SS' that carried out the mass killing of people deemed 'untermenchen'. Roughly 15% of Wehrmacht commited war crimes and about 65% off the Waffen SS (I think this is from memory of a book I read, I could be wrong about the percentage).

  • kanal ist geschlossen und teil 4 und 7 fehlen gänzlich

  • The american self rightiousness makes me sick though...Like they think they are better then everybody else

  • You mean fatter then everybody else....

  • Better like what?

  • its a stereotype. as anything else is. I live here and I'm sick of it too.

  • ah , but in America you CAN get hauled off by police for speaking your opinion

  • yes it's dumb, but, although opinions are good, it's important to be careful not to take the plunge into reletavism

  • when?

  • I'm not on here to bash the German people. As an American i was fed a steady diet of Bush hatred from other Americans on the tv and with just about everybody i talked to on the street. You wouldn't get away with that kind of talk in nazi germany. The majority of Americans didn't even vote for Bush in the 2000 election yet he became president. So. the american system is fucked up. But at least you dont get taken away by Nazi thugs for speaking your opinion.

  • true

  • Well, maybe she knew he wasn't coming back. Only 5,000 of the 150,000 Germans in the 6th Army ever saw Germany again. But at this point in the movie no one knew. It must have sucked to get news like that.

  • BlitzoftheReich: 250,000 was the total for the 6th Army but it included Italians and Roumanians as well. The Germans were 150-180,000.

  • I think the number with Romanians, Italians was nearer 300,000

  • woodman 19 you are damn right

  • Hollywood is at variance with doc. film of German soldiers - betterlooking and fitter than these.

  • all those americans in here who criticize germans are hypocrites!

why didnt you openly disobey Bush when he was invading nations? Answer: because your sheep following the herd, like Germans were

cant change human nature, 95% of people do what they are told by authority.

  • nice analogy {Thumbs Up}

  • thank you, even im impressed when I look back and read it :)

  • Germans made fun of Hitler as well. The Yanks and the Nazis are an apt comparison. Both went to war on the back of lies, both followed those lies blindly even when there was enough evidence to rubbish their propaganda. As for Saddam being as bad as Hitler.. if you believe that then you are the idiot. Let's remember, it was the US that put Saddam in power.

  • saddam hussein was just as evil as hitler to me yes. he just didn't have the same amount of power. the americans did not put saddam in power. the americans gave him money to fight against the iranians who had taken american hostages and were backed by communist money. you also forgot to mention the fact that the americans and their allies invaded iraq and took saddam out of power. america and its allies also kicked the iraqis out of kuwait too.

  • No, Saddam was a puppet Government for USA

  • Saddam was a Freemason a feellow member of the secret brother hood in UK, America and most of the western Europe

its is becoming clear to those with the courage to see that our planet is controlled by a few secret societies determined to establish a new world order add the cost of exterminating your family to achieve this

  • and theres nothing you can do about it!!! muahahahahaha!

  • Bro if you are an ounce intelligent then you would know Evil and Good dont exist. There is always a grey line. Hitler wasnt evil...Everyone of those dictator was led by either insanity or rationality.

In Hitler's case I dont see what differentiates him from Napoleon.

Napoleon exterminated enemies, opened camps, executed summarily etc.

And during the middle ages and before in Europe everybody was a little Hitler.

So dont judge Its just the nature of man Some let it out like Hitler some dont

  • I like your views but there should always be people who keep the megalomaniacs and the sadist killers in check, the masses, the population of a country should do that in case of a leader of state but they are just to occupied for that. Ppl think only about their own family, or about being the perfect consumer slave.

  • Evil and Good don't exist you say??? That is precisely the belief system that led to Hitlers rise to power in the first place. Evil triumphs only when good men stand by and do nothing....

  • at 1:36 those are U.S. cans lol

  • Of course Manstein, a far more capable officer and Paulus' superior as commander at the time of Army Group South, is also responsible: he could have himself ordered a break out or surrender but didn't. The Prussian nobility set up her own downfall bound as it were by oaths and tradition. The perfect military tool placed in the hands of a madman led to to its own demise.

  • ellin40... have you read the book "The Last 100 Days" by John Toland??? A must read and the most factual book i've read on WW2. It tells of Paulus and other commanders like Kesselring, Donitz et al, and their relationships with Hitler. It tells of why many fell out of favor and were replaced. But the book is mainly about the German retreat back to Berlin and the final surrender.

  • I have to look up my history again but I think Paulus replaced another commander who had fallen out of favor--von Bock? List? I'm not sure. Up to that point he had had a colorless career as staff officer. He was selected for command of the 6th Army based on his OBEDIENT NATURE, not for any particular command talent.

  • Yet, and after having been the main protagonist in the unnecessary deaths of thousands of his men due to privation, Paulus did not have any qualms about willingly joining Stalin's traveling troupe of oh-look-at-how-happy-I-am-now-with-papa-Stalin ex-Wehramcht personnel and be awarded the highest hospitality in S. Union.

  • To compound the Stalingrad disaster, the Germans started 1943 with Kursk during the battle of which they lost most of their armour, never to be replaced again. After Stalingrad and Kursk, it was all done and said on the Ostfront.

  • On the other hand, Stalin did not permit the evacuation of Russian civilians from Stalingrad but they did not provision them either thus securing extreme hardship for over 1.5 million civilians.

  • And the northern and southern flanks were guarded by undermanned and under-equipped Hungarian and Romanian units that simply disintegrated under the armored punch of "Uranus" allowing the encirclement to happen. Hitler never cared for his soldiers, Paulus was a "yes-man" egged on by that slimy worm, Schmidt.

  • Not quite. Hitler promoted Paulus to field marshall knowing that no Prussian field marshall had ever surrendered to anyone. He did this in the hope Paulus would fight to the last man and then take his own life in Stalingrad. It didnt work. Paulus disobeyed. You are right Hitler did not care about any other human being. He only saw strong and weak irrespective of nationality. His final words were that the Germans did not deserve victory against the stronger race from the east.

  • Well, yes, Hitler was a master manipulator but this also entails a willingness to let become manipulated on behalf of the interlocutor. It was, no doubt, a complicated relationship. But do not kid yourself: Paulus did not disobey willingly, he was forced by circumstance. At that point the fate of his army had been sealed with about 1,000 German personnel dying every minute in the last three weeks of the affair, most of them due to lack of medical care and hygiene.

  • Quite right what you say about Paulus. But Hitler´s last words were more like "If the German folk is not able to beat the drossy eastern folks they only deserve to die......they wanted it like that"

  • Messiah Complex 'I came to save these people, to lead them to a promised land, but they betrayed their great leader, so deserve whatever fate befalls them because of their treachery' - that sort of nonsense

  • In 1942, throwing the whole of 6th Army (close to 200,000) out there by themselves was just crazy. They really didn;t think the Russians were good for anything militarily but at the same time they had NO IDEA of the immense manpower gathering in safety at the Urals.

  • Well, they also messed up operationally, lost the industrial competition to the US, and had a racist ideology that alienated most civilian populations that could have been their allies against Stalin.

  • Notice the lack of winter equipment. And this is the German Army's SECOND winter in Russia. Yet nothing still although it must now be (in this part of the movie) October.

  • guess that's why they lost then.

  • whats the name of the song at 4:38???

  • Are there a stalingrad with subtiles on youtube?

  • geiler film!

  • good film I feel sorry i sold this for £2 at a car boot sale, I should have kept it.

  • it´s only a film but so it was really in the war.I´m a german child and my grandmother´s brothers were at the war an they told that was the hell on earth!!!

  • i need to see this movie

  • war is hell..its just so dam easy in games to kill people and do other horrible things.

  • a russian concentration camp, well i think so.

  • my mums uncle was at stalingrad, he was 15 years old!

  • Did he survive the war? Did he spend time in the gulags?

  • yes, he survived, but the he was in siberia as a prisoner of war for the next 10 years!

im sorry i have no idea wht a gulag is...

  • A gulag is a special soviet style prisoner work camp. That's the simplest explanation.

  • they were smoking to "cool" down

  • It is very strange that many soldiers were smoking altough it is bad for health.

  • Yeah, like being in Stalingrad was GOOD for their health?

  • calms you down

  • darf ich mal fragen warum ihr alle englisch schreibt?

  • weil das eine internationale videoplattform ist^^

  • I will never believe that germans whould not kill russian kid and that they will bve so kind to him! bullshit!

    P.S> kid speak terribly russian!

  • why?

  • Soldiers fight for what they believe in, they fight for their country. I served in Afghanistan because I was ordered to, from 05-06. Because my president is a republican, am I one as well? Remember that not all Germans are Nazis and not all Amis are demos or repubs, nor all Russians Communists. My grandfather and great grandfather both served 'in Namen den Fuhrer und Vaterland.' Both died.

  • ow sure the germans are all evil soldiers with no heart...

thats why 1 gets angry couse his wife is sleeping with a french P.O.W -.-'
