Can someone help me? I'm using a radeon 4770 and a 24" phillips but. when I use the analog, I get full screen, but when I put in the DVI/HDMI I only get 720p! anyone know what to do?
Great vid! I'm goint to build a pc: AMD Athlon II x425 X3 2.7 GHz, 2GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM, HIS ATI HD4770 512MB and 400W FSP PSU. Will the game run on my pc as fast as on yours?
Hey man I'm building a new comp with the exact same cpu AND gpu...thanks SO much for posting this!!! EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED TO KNOW. Thanks so much, no one posts FO3!!!
How did you get it run on 4770? This game crashes w/ my 4770 all the time. There are parts in the game that I cant access. When i enter the bar in the town and go near and talk to the person who's dressed like a detective, my PC crashes. I tried everything from lowering my settings to doing the ffdshow bug fix thingy that was posted on the net. Nothing worked. I also tried to get help from the Fallout3 tech guys, they said that the 4770 wasn't compatible w/ this game. Please help,
dude i have the geforce 9800gt i can play the game on full graphics but some times it freezes when the quick save are active disable the qucik saves and download the latest drivers for your graphics card and try the game again
I run my 4770 on max settings too playing fallout3. No issue in graphic performance. My only issue was the random crashes and the crash bug at Moriarity's pub when you talk to the bomb guy wearing the hat and suit. The "Skullptura: fallout3 final fix/global fix" pretty much fixes all your problems. All you guys having problems w/ fallout3 should get it. Although I have the final fix, it still occasionally freezes when I quick save, but it rarely happens unlike before.
@Faarao69 , yeah. I guess Skullptura aint perfect. But izawryt, I got it free, I dont have money to buy the original game. The bugs and glitches aint so bad once you patch it up. hehe.
32bit programs can only use a maximum of 2gb, putting that 32bit program in a 64bit OS still wont make it use more than 2gb so until they make 64bit games the extra 2gb is useless unless you run lots of big apps at the same time. So I would say you wouldn't need to get more ram .
32bit OS's can yes detect up to 3.5gb or ram but the programs themselves can only use a maximum of 2gb. Think about it, where have you seen games these days that require more than 2gb. Not even crysis can demand so much. But I can see where your ging about the framebuffer (the extra 512mb) Thing is, only directx 10 can allow the borrowing of PC ram for use in the GPU.
where have you got this info from? because its like 60% true just because the game needs that the user must have 2gb of ram doesn't mean that it only uses 2gb of ram! it does improve with a few fps with more ram in even old games that needs 256mb ram more=faster the ram is between the hard drive and the cpu, all the data and buffer and everything is on the ram that needs to be transfered the the cpu so it can load it and then it it actually gets rendered by the graphics card to display a picture
with less ram it have to transfer one part and then another... with more it takes everything in one time and it will give a huge boost... if you have 2gb.. its too little to have all data on the ram if you wanna "alt+tab" it and it have to send it to the hard drive and it takes a long time.. with 4gb ram it doesn't send the data to the hard drive but just leave it on the ram... it will "alt+tab" in a sec and i mean in less than 1 sec.. more ram improves both speed and performance of everything.
Ok, you win, the extra ram will help in the long run. All I was saying that 2gb is just fine and that 32bit programs cant use more than 2gb at a time. 3gb would yes be better and 4gb even better.
yes it will bottleneck if you have vista... if not it doesn't... 4gb is what i recommend for vista and 2 gb for xp to run fast, but 4gb also adds 4-6 fps in games and also it will run a lot faster
Looks like a bunch of people need new graphics cards

WRONG! 32bit CAN have 4gb but will only detect 3.5gb ram... but that extra 512mb will be to give the graphics card a extra buffer...
