I am actually starting my Google BOLD internship today!! =) I see that some of you are put off that this girl goes to a nice school...however the BOLD program does seek out individuals who are underrepresented. I am certainly not affluent, I do attend a great school though!

Going to a top-tier school does not automatically guarantee that the person is wealthy. Many of those schools have the best financial aid packages in the nation. Don't generalize.

In short, BOLD is a charade, and its disgusting to claim that the program is meant to recruit underrepresented minorities.

I find it ironic that Google Bold program, which according to the program's description seeks to recruit underrepresented minorities, only offers internships to wealthy blacks, white hispanics and jews. If Google Bold really wants to make difference then recuirt individuals from inner cities. I know prior google interns who have described the program as a gathering affluent minorities who either attend Harvard, Yale or some other Ivy Leauge. Don't believe me look Bold's facebook group.
