  • Most of Burmese Jewish community left after the coup by U Ne Win in 60's who turned Democratic Burma into Socialism and dictatorship. U Ne Win nationalized almost all Businesses, Factories and Properties including those owned by Burmese Jews. And Israel was welcoming coming home Jews from around the world, so Burmese Jews left. That synagogue in the news has lists of Jewish family names from 1886 or so.
