This game is perfect example that graphics don't make the game.

Because I actually prefer the feel of the Saturn version, to the purdy Dreamcast version. And even more, Saturn's SEGA Rally is far better than the beautiful XBOX360 and PS3 versions.

A real shame companies like Sega don't pour a lot of money into Arcade gaming anymore. The era of Virtua Racing, Daytona & Sega Rally was the heyday without a doubt. Imagine what they could do if they put their minds and wallets to it in this era!!

@PrrrromotionGiven I had a Sega CD but I really didn't see the big deal with it considering their pricing and the 32x, I never saw the point of that considering we knew that they were planning on releasing a full 32-bit console just a bit later, got it anyway and was still left feeling ripped off (hard to imagine since I was like 6 or something lol).

Some DLCs are good but essentially Sega made addons the way EA makes Sims 3 expansions, overpriced and not worth it :P

This game still is great. I prefer it to sega rally 2 for the dreamcast. It really controlled like a dream, and looked amazing.. It still does look great, and stands up well compared to many other racers.

I always thought the passenger(guide) was saying "easy right, baby" not "easy right, maybe?"but then i got older and more aware that the voice is portraying a guide reading a map and preparing the driver(you) for what lies ahead. Dude I have to get this game again. Dummy me traded my Saturn for a PS1 because they weren't making games for it anymore. I always regretted it and wanted on again but couldn't get one. Whats cool is that my wife bought me another one for my 30th bday and I have been playing it ever since. In fact both my sons love playing it more than any other system we have.

This game was/is most awesome at the arcades, theres a version that exist that has an Wheel Counter Turning Mechanism that fights you as you try to turn at high speeds. if your lucky to find one chances are its busted for good, or the wheel mechanism stopped working

wow, it's hard to spot where the Sega Saturn really "Failed" (so-to-speak) to the Sony Playstation...& I specifically say to the Sony Playstation because it didn't fail to Nintendo 64. N64 came out a LONG TIME after Playstation (I still have my original Playstation 1 receipt, it's dated September 19th 1995 from Circuit City & it's on the receipt as "PSX". but back then, I thought Sega Saturn would win, I had a Sega Genesis Classic +Sega CD +Sega 32X & A Refrigerator box full of Genesis games

I don't want to be rude. Nice play through. I've never seen this game before ever nor have I ever seen a Sega Saturn in my life, but to me, this game doesn't look all that good. The reason why I think that is because I saw you drive perfectly at the first race and you only got 9th to show for it. To me it felt like an unfair racing game like playing Hydro Thunder in the Arcades single player on hard tracks.

@Sly88Frye It's not possible to get 1st on the desert or forest tracks. On them you just need to go as faster as you can, to be 1st on the 3rd stage.

But this is nothing, really. The big thing on Sega Rally is the way it plays. An unique game on the 32 bit era.

Yes this was a great game back then. When in first came out that Christmas my g/f and I bought the system this game, the driving wheel and a few other games spending almost 700 dollars. At one point we even had two seats from a car mounted onto a platform in our apartment so we could play close to the TV..those were the days.

This game is the best racing game ever imo. I remember playing this for hours at a time. But funny enough I never actually completed the championship mode. Witch is a bit embarrassing now considering it is only 4 races long.

Remember my dad giving me a cheat code to unlock a green and white rally car but it was terrible.

I loved this game as a kid. I would just run laps for hours at a time. I remember that the manual made me believe that there was two unlockable cars(why, I'm not sure) and I would just the championship over and over thinking it was finishing time that would unlock the other car.
