  • That's nice and liberal of you Debbie... but when are you going to explain why you and your friends in the House have been protecting Bush and signing all his bills?

  • Those with ability should be in places where they can exercise their abilities.

It has been roughly ninety or so years since women were allowed to vote. Even less for Blacks. These sectors have just recently become more encouraged toward politics. I think there is a dire need to encourage able people from all sectors of society to serve politically.

But to push a candidate "because they are female"? That doesn't help the USA. There needs to be more depth to character and policies than gender.

  • I hate this collectivist mentality. It's not about men or women, it's about individuals.

Debbie is such a double-edged sword for me.

  • Why do you hate the "collectivist mentality"? Do you feel threatened by women in power? Why do individualists (conservatives) have to be opposed to women, blacks, etc being encouraged to run for political office? If you are for individualism, you should be for equal opportunity for all, despite things like gender.

  • I think you completely missed the point. It doesn't matter if you're of a skin color or gender. Recognition and promotion of such collectives only reinforces their existence and stifles individualism. Where you stand and what you do is the only thing that defines who you are. Anything else should be politically irrelevant.
