Please forgive my previous attempt @ humour but what I was failing 2 get over was that I was having a bit of a go at @ Hugh 4 his self-indulgent reciting from his book ( Multitude of Sins ) when I turned up and payed 2 watch him play Rock n' Roll---I can read the book (which I bought BTW) at blinking home--WHEN I'm bored !!!!!
Fuck This rock shit!! Wot i wont is sum of dat re-siteing from vat book of is, dat-multychude ov zinzs( yer no) summin 4 us rok fans 2 get R teeff into --YEAHH!!!--ROK 'n' ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!? Yer Fuk this music she- it
Only a complete fool doesn't mellow with time. Time teaches you to observe witha certain distance... not necessarily 'taming' you... just giving major experience.
This band is PURE aw Rock power!!! Brilliance and sheer nerve. Mean, driving bass line and slashing drums. ENERGY that keeps old Hugh VERY alive, I-m sure!
Fucking brilliant!!Knew the Stranglers were back on tour didn't know Hugh was up and about doing his own thing. Of course its not racist it's about feeling like a stranger in your own town\country\familly strong language strong times!!
It irks me a bit that Hugh is trying to twist the view that The Stranglers were not Punk but more like the Police or Blondie and not hard edged like the Pistols, is he avin a larf - I was there mate in 76/77 and the Stranglers were F@#*in Scary with major attitude for gods sake, Hugh used to spit at the audience can't see the Police being menacing.
DITTO always loved the guy.. like any hard assed gler fan... but i met him twice in scotland... onc e in fife... once in motherwell... and he was a let down to my feelins for him.. still love him though... he is a STRANGLER..........................
Absolutely - time has obviously mellowed him so that he forgets what he was like as a bad ass Strangler. He was voted in the top 25 most anarchic rock stars.
Intro fantastic. Vintage Hugh. Shows what a quirky creative guitarist he is. Listen to Caz cambells bass in the background too. Thats worth mentioning, shame we couldnt see her though :)
He is very brave (foolish) to play this now and even back in 1977 - but credit to the old boy. Will he ever re-join the band? Think of the money they could make and the joy they could bring
hugh, get a backbone, stand up to burnel, swallow that pride and rejoin your old buddies.

I watched Hugh Cornwell and band at Rebellion Blackpool a few years back and he was far better then the 'Stranglers' without him.

I think hugh is currently even more honestly pure rocking with this line up. I love this raw vibe above the current stranglers sound.

I went to see the stranglers last night in manchester. it was amazing "a spent force creatively" my arse!
this song is in need of more organ

Well...to be fair the stuff the Stranglers are releasing now are essentially throwbacks to their earlier works.
If anything that validates Hugh's opinion.
They're still a decent band but not a patch on how good they used to be.
