  • i need to send command from my pc to microcontroller with xbee after configurate it, do you know any way i can do that? Thanks in advance:)

  • If you have to set which is transmitter and which is receiver, can the receiver not send data to the other one? Are they not biderectional to send and receive?

  • @murmurrer

    Hi,

i think there are different modes. In some you can initialize a bidirectional communication. I guess the standard/default settings enable this. Just try it out… sorry that I can´t help you.

    greets

  • @ixer2006 Hi, I just got a pair of 4214a-xbee s1

and I can send and receive from both xbees. Used the default settings and only set the destination address on both. Just to let you know.

  • Hi, can I use series 1 modules and set up the same network?

  • @vickychheda

sorry but i don´t know that...

  • hi i was wondering how do you connect an xbee receiver to a pc without the arduino ? i only have a single arduino uno right now :(

  • @saintk89

    Hi,

i use the Arduino Board as a kind of Serial/USB Interface. For it you don´t need the chip, infact you have to remove the Chip to make it work (or set chip in reset mode --> wire from Reset Pin to Ground)

  • is XBee series 2 ?

  • @SSLOVELY

    yes it is...

  • hi, then how can i create a small network with 3 nodes. i was able to make 2 communicate as in ur video but how do i add the thired one?

  • @aburuka

    Hi,

I have to say, that i don´t know how to solve your problem. But I have an idea….

If you got 2 transmitters and 1 receiver, just write in both Tx Modules the destination address of the receiver. I think that should work, but there is no 2-Way-Communication between all Modules. I know there is a function set for this but I don´t know how to set it up.

Sorry, but I hope I could help you with my answer…

  • hi, the how can i make a small network with 3 nodes?

  • how to program it using pc????

  • @pathan043

    Hi,

what should i answer to this question??? Did you watch my Video??? I think I explained it in a very simple way… if you still have some more specific questions, please don´t hesitate to ask…

  • can i have the circuit diagram?

  • @pathan043

    Hi,

a connection is quite simple… just ground, 3.3V an Rx/Tx. Sorry but I can´t give you a circuit diagram, because I have no suitable software to create one.

  • how to interface zigbee with microcontroller ?

  • @pathan043

    Hi,

i think it is the same like with my Xbee... Because the pinout is the same i guess...

  • does the xbee only have one way communication?

so if i wanted 2 way i would need 2 xbees on each arduino

  • @microchoc

    Hi,

i guess its 2 Way Communication. So you will need only 2 Xbees. Just try it out and please report me the results…

  • U r wrong

  • @RChero1010

whats wrong??? Where did i make a mistake?

  • hi.. when set up a circuit as u showed.. nd start the xctu and test my xbee in pc settings.. it says unable to communicate..can please guide me how to restore xbee to its factory settings??

  • hi.. I am also trying to setup my xbee with the help of arduino board.. i do not know where i messed up in my intial tries.. now my xctu is not communicating with xbee.. what should i do? do i need to reset it?please guide me as soon as possible..m in the middle of my project..

  • @aashkashah3

    Hi,

did you try to swap the wires (RX/TX), did you choose the right Com Port, is you xbee powered, did you remove the arduino Chip (or set the arduino into Reset Mode)…

If it wound work after you have tried these fixes, I will be not able to help you. I can´t imagine why it doesn´t work… Please let me know about the results…

    Cu

  • I finally configured them,May u please let me know how to use digital and analog pins of Xbee

  • @hebjur10

I feel very sorry, but i can´t help you. I never used the other pins of the xbee because I never needed to do that. Sorry man….

  • Hello sir,

I have bought 2 Xbee 4214A modules. While configuring them in XCTU i am not able to find router end device or cordinator. Please help me in configuring them as TX and RX

  • @hebjur10

    Hi,

i wish i could help you, but i don´t know exactly how to do this manually. I feel sorry that i can´t help you...

  • they also have a range of around 250 ft.

in optimal conditions about 300 ft.

  • I have two. they are 814.11g signal.

  • @RChero1010

    Ok,

and what do you want to say with this statement????

  • IT'S WIFI, NOT 2.4 GHz!

  • @RChero1010

I think you don´t know what you are talking about, because WIFI is 2,4 GHz

  • Sir I am using AT89S51 microcontroller. would you please help me in interfacing it with Xbee please send me the code and schematic if possible b'coz I am planning of doing some wireless project on Xbee for the final year.i am very much keen in learning Xbee please please help me out

  • @hebjur10

    Hi,

i will do my best to help you. I will send you a PM...

  • sir would you please tell me why you connected pin 2 of xbee(Dout) to TX of the arduino and pin3 of xbee(Din) to RX of the arduino please do reply

  • @hebjur10

    Hi,

like i said in the Video, you have to connect it this way to Setup the xbee (without Arduino Chip) . So your Board is a kind of USB Adapter. When you use the Arduino and the Xbee, then the 2 Wires has to be switched. (TX Din and RX Dout)

    hope I could help you…

  • @safwat1995

So did i. And thats why i made this Tutorial.....

  • Gibt es einen Xbee USB Adapter fürs PC ? Damit ich vom PC aus kabellos meinen Arduino fernsteuern kann?

  • @shebotnov

Ja gibts und kostet so zwischen 15-20€. Aber wenn du ein 2. Arduino Board hast, was ja genau so viel kostet, kannst du das ja auch nehmen. Muss man sich halt entscheiden ob es das wert ist...

    mfg

  • Thx for the vid. So you obviously need 2 xbees modules to wirelessly connect your PC to the Arduino. Wouldn't it be cheaper to use an Bluetooth module since my laptop has one built in? Do you speak German?

  • @shebotnov

Yes, you need 2 Modules. But you also can connect 2 Arduinos not just a PC and an Arduino. So there are so many possibilites. And yes its cheaper, but the communication distance is very short. So this Xbees can reach up to 1.6 km (Pro Version) so its for long range stuff...
