  • Sounds awesome Mike...Mine's in the mail...Great playing

  • I have listening to this demo now for the umphtieth time and I love the sounds you make with your pedal and your guitar, thank you so much for playing and making these wonderful tones!

  • Very nice playing and a very nice pedal! I'm gettin' one! :)

  • Very nice playing and a very nice pedal!

  • Amazing!!!

  • I have a sought-after vintage overdrive and it can't touch this thing! WOW!!!

  • Best pedal I've ever owned. Best setting Flame Volume 100% Gain 100% Bass 9 o'clock Treble 9 o'clock. Sound like and cleans up like '69.

  • Lovely bluesy tone.. what is he playing somewhere at @2:00?

  • @moronslave That's a song I wrote from my next CD called "I'll Meet You There." MFuller

  • Superb demo and playing and tone, I've got a Pete Cornish but I like the tone of yours more, definitely my next purchase. Love the tone of the Strat as well.

  • I wish I'de seen this before getting a Fuzz Factory....I know! I know! I got carried away by all the squawking and whistling.Lol

    This sounds tremendous...

  • Gr8 vibe! What pickups in your Strat, Mike?

  • @joeytruelove Those are stock 1965 strat pu's that came with the guitar, I love those gray bottom strat pu's!

  • What amp did you use for this demo?

  • That is a 1965 Fender Pro Reverb with 2 x Ceramic Weber Blue 12" (35watt?) speakers, I like the webers because you can get the cones "non doped" which allows the cone to move more, making it richer, more sensitive, less trebly.

  • @fulltoneeffects Where did you buy those Weber speakers? I cannot find them on the web.

  • @Manolian Youtube won't let me post link, so see this :Ted Weber dot com

  • whats the title of the song at 00:48 ?

  • @borntohula94 That's the break from Jimi's "Third Stone from the Sun" from Are You Experienced album

  • The setting from 3:12 to 3:25 was my favorite. LOVE!!!! that sound!

  • Now this is how ALL gear demo's should be like! I've got a catalyst, and i love it.

  • Mike just wanted to thank you for the Plimsoul, I have done some shows with it and this pedal is everything I have ever needed in a pedal. Being able to blend the two sounds together gives you the best of both worlds just like you said. The one thing that makes you different then all other pedal companies. Is there is no hype what you say is what you get. Everything you say a pedal does it does. Thanks again

  • For a change this is one of few demos you can find on YouTube that actually makes you wanna buy and play (rather than killing all these half ass amateurs including gearmandude....sorry) this the best IMO Fuzz pedal ever made. I have almost full line up of Fulltone pedals and haven't found bad one. Whenever a pedal sounds bad I know it's me.....

  • This is by far best fuzz pedal I've ever had and played (and I've almost had them all :-)

  • Great , .... what else to say. Mike knows exactly what he's doing.

  • That really brings the amp to life, fender should issue them with their amps

  • This video definately sold me on the pedal as well as remind me how sweet Fender on Fender sounds! Nice one.

  • Simply superb playing, and the Catalyst sounds amazing.

  • please make more videos. sounds really really good. i want to hear more!

  • I liked a lot!

  • It sounds great! I really need to buy this! Mike - how´s it going with the solid state TTE?

  • Cool!

  • The Catalyst is in my future. I own the OCD v.3, Fulldrive 2 Mosfet, early Fatboost, and Standard Clyde. Killer stuff Mike!

  • Top notch! Catalyst is in my future. I own FullDrive 2 Mosfet, OCD v.3, Early Fatboost, Standard Clyde. The best!!!

  • sadly, i've only been able to afford one fulltone product, the clyde standard, and it is amazing. i wasted the last of my money on the t-rex gristle king. it's a good pedal, but i would rather have one of these babies

  • Beck's playing actually has some Hendrix attributes, and I bet thats not an accident. 35 years after his death, if you want to prove your product sounds good, you play Hendrix. Thats an impact. Great Job Mike, if only you could build a pedal that would make me play like you :D

  • Love the boxes Mike, all Fulltone stuff is very versitile for any style, they are very open for different players. I love the FullDrive 2 it has a perm place on my board. I am trying to get the bucks for the outstanding Deja-Vibe. Been considering the Catalyst, maybe another OCD, cannot decide.

By the way Trower uses all Fulltone and the man knows effects. Thanke for the tones Mike and Robin. Long life Robin if you decide to retire this year, we still remember the mist over the bridge.

  • What a nice chord and sound at 1.25!!!!!!

  • Great piece of playing a great piece of gear, Mike! This pedal would be even better in a FullDrive box though, I think, so the Spark/ Flame can be set using one's foot. Not sure whether it should have separate knobs for each mode, like two effects in one box, or whether they should share EQ, vol and Gain like the FD though. Outstanding pedal anyroad.

  • Great playing Mike, really exceptional.

  • I'll be getting one of these babies! Great demo, great playing! I own an older Fulldrive 2 and an OCD v4. Great pedals! There is also a Clyde Deluxe in my future, and others. Yours are just the best out there, built to last, at very reasonable prices! No wonder Robin Trower is so into your pedals...He knows killer tone (now I've got to try the Trower Pedal too)...BTW, I also use your cables. Keep the great stuff coming! Tomorrow I visit my favorite Atlanta area Fulltone dealer!

  • sounds like this pedal would be good for doyle bramhall 2 stuff

  • I was huge into Fulltone pedals a few years ago and for some reason I started trying out other, more expensive gear. What a mistake. The other manufatcures made good pieces but they were definitely not any better than Mike's pedals - just more expensive.

This afternoon I bought a Clyde Deluxe and plan to get either a Catalyst or an OCD. I haven't decided which wil best suit my needs at this point.

Fulltone and Mike Fuller are the best at what they do - period.

    b

  • Did you already picked one of the two (or both?)

OCD and/or Catalyst ? And why?

  • :-)

  • play jimi all you want mate, you can't hide the early beck/truth feel in your playing that i love so much...

    ml

  • I didn't hear it before, but your right.

  • I think I like it

  • That's the sound right there. I gotta get me one of these and FAST!

Keep up the hard work Mike! Guys like me need it lol!

    Peace

  • that third stone from the sun bit sounds amaaaazing!

  • I was all set to pick up the OCD and now I see this. Help me out people. This or the OCD? I play Strats and Teles through a Fender Deluxe.

  • Okay, I'll order this pedal from you, but if I still can't play like this guy, I want a refund! ;)

  • Everyone do yourself a favor and pick one of these babies up. It can do EJ, Cream-era Clapton, Bonamassa, Beck, Page, and on and on. Mr. Fuller you hit a home run with this pedal. BTW I love how the Bass/Mids adds such a FAT sounding OD/Fuzz and allows me to dial in my Strats/Les Pauls. Killer!

  • This is one of the best fuzzy pedals I've heard. This and Skreddy, seem to be all you need.

  • Wow! I never liked fuzz, but this thing is awesome. I'm getting one, that's all there is to it. Your pedals are still the best Mike, great job!!

  • i like it just all the things that it fixes about fuzz are the things i like! the squishy bottom end, the uncontroability, the muffled non cleaning up-able tones. but fulltone makes pedals for those kind of things so its all good i guess

  • It gets way squishy and nasty, feedbacky and $#$%...just turn the Bass up, the treble up, the Gain all the way up, and flip that little switch up to FLAME.

And hang on for dear life.

  • Sounds KILLER! Gotta get one.

Kinda off subject but have you ever considered doing a demonstration video of basic maintenance for the Tube Tape Echo? As an owner of two of them I would greatly appreciate that! Especially if it included adjusting (realigning) the tape heads. Just a thought.

  • Hi,

Good idea, it's so simple to keep the TTE running but so easy to set it up wrong and have it perform poorly.

Good idea, I will try and make the time for this!

  • Love it!!

  • Great work Mike. I purchased this pedal the other day after watching this vid cause I was tired of my old modded tubescreamer and it has exceeded my expectations. I can replicate the fuzzy crunch of my Orange on a Fender Hot Rod. Now I can combine the Fender cleans and the dirty brit crunch with the Catalyst set to almost fuzz. Fantastic!

  • Great pedal. It has simplified my setup. I mainly use it as a fat boost, but its nice to also have a backup fuzz you don't have to worry about.

  • Another great sounding pedal Mike, that i'm tempted to add to my collection! Any news on the CFV-2 release?

  • The prototype is done, and I went crazy with it, I simply made 2 seperate choruses connnected together with one brain, so you have stereo IN and OUT, not some fake simulated out of phase, or one dry/one wet output! This allows for some GREAT True Vibrato, Chorus and insane Flange, especially when you twiddle this little knob that affects the "sync/symmetry" between the 2 sides of this thing! Now it's all about shrinkin, pushing, morphing the huge circuit board smaller, smaller, and smaller.

  • Thanks for the update Mike. I'm hooked on your pedals! Keep up the good work!

  • I've owed the Catalyst for 3 weeks now and have done 1 live gig and 2 studio sessions with it. It has completely exceeded my expectations! Great R&D Mike! Great playing too! "I'll Meet You There" is some sweet guitar work!

  • Wow. Sounds great. Can't wait to test drive this in the store. Sounds like the fuzz i have been looking for all this while.

  • Wow Mike, Sounds like you were able to nail the transparent/sizzle/girth combination! Sounds impressive. Great playing also!

  • cool man

  • I lIke it!

  • It feels like I heard the Full Drive 2 for the first time. I just had to buy it immediately despite the fact there still are no dealers in my state of South Carolina yet so I had to buy it online :'(

What song are you playing @ 2:04 Mike if you don't mind me asking?

  • The chordal thing? a tune of mine called "I'll Meet You There"

  • Now that is what I call a demo!

  • Wow, nice work Mike!! I was gonna order a Fat-Boost 3 today, but noticed the videos on this. This one's going right next to my OCD, and not far down the chain from my '69, Octafuzz, Mini Deja'Vibe, and my Choral-Flange. Love 'em all. Keep up the great work !!

  • Third Stone from the Sun... my favorite dude

  • Sorry, just saw the previous comment. Different question, then: if you had to choose a modern production strat pickups set that would get close to that mellow sound that you have here, what would you choose?

  • One Rainy Wish :D Gotta love Hendrix! And this has to be the most versatile and best sounding fuzz pedals I've EVER heard!

    Nice one Mike!

  • Excellent, truly excellent! And the sound quality is good, too. It's very interesting to see how it performs with a bright combo amp because I mainly play with those (I have a Mesa Boogie MKIIa for gigs). Was it a silverface or a blackface?

The tones at the end reminded me of Eric Johnson. I saw that a nice trick is to keep the bass knob all the way up with the strat's bridge pickup. Can you please tell us what exact pickups you're using?

  • Wow!!! Nice sound. Your guitar, amp and pedal are wonderfull. The vintage 65 Fender Strat is amazing. Did you use a vintage Fender amp? I want to see more of your playing on your instruments and pedals.

You are not only a good pedal builder but also a great guitar player. I use some of your pedals and they are my favorites. I am planning on buying a Catalyst.

  • It's simple really. Mike Fuller fu**ing rules. :)

  • Mike, are you running the pedal with 9V or 18V power?

  • 9 volt battery, I haven't done much time on it @ 18volts, to be honest.

  • Hey Mike, i'm still waiting for your ss tape echo! However this pedal sounds amazing with a strat and a Fender (i have a twin reverb) and i just bought one!

  • Sounds amazing-I have one on order-just waiting...

What pickups are in the strat? I know the video said "stock"-They just sound excellent, even noiseless?!?

Could you post a video of it interacting with other effects?

    Wah, Vibe etc...

  • The strat is from 1965, it's a light one, refinished white, with stock 1965 pickups, not noiseless..in fact NOISY :)

  • This pedal sounds great!

Of course, anything will sound good if Mike's hands are playing!

  • Thanks, but the problem is I only have 5 riffs, so i can't do too many more demos or the world will find out!

  • well im lookin at this and can it get nice thick tones still like eric johnson type

  • Awesome, absolutely brillant. I own some Fulltone pedals already and will get this thing also. I always liked the sound of a good fuzz but hated the fact that most of them have no tone knob and are terribly bright with certain amps. The Catalyst seems to be different!

I couldn't care less for the bad rap some people give to Mike. He's building great pedals, that's all that counts for me. And he's a great guitar player, as shown in this vid...

  • Man, that is the million Dollar Tone.

  • Hey Man, is this the replacement for that awesome 69 Pedal?

  • Hi, I suppose it is, but it is a lot more versatile, and frankly I cannot find great Germanium Transistors anymore, so I made the catalyst, which uses FET's and can get warmer than the 69, yet fuzzier than the 70 pedal.

  • Mike, I just bought the MDV-2 and it is awesome.....I will own the Catalyst as soon as someone gets it in stock. That thing is sick !!!

  • Wow ! That is Awesome !
