  • Thank you - what an incredible place to work! I'm planning my trip for October, and will be sure to put a slideshow up when I get back. I am planning to spend at least a day in the North Unit as well, the less people the better! Thanks again!

  • Your videos really helped me plan my trip to TRNP, I'm heading out to photograph the horses-were you out there last September?

  • Yes, we were, so the North Unit was all ours. There were many horses all over the South Unit.

  • I worked there this summer and not many people made it to the North Unit. If you are wanting horses then I am guessing you know that you need to go to the South Unit. The horses are pretty much everywhere right now and we have a 134. Make sure you go towards Wind Canyon when you are on the loop road. Good luck!

  • I've always wanted to do what you did out there. Someday, hopefully, I will. It is sad that more people don't go there and hike those trails. I'm sure it's a challenge, but once you've done it, I bet you feel like you accomplished something.

  • Thanks, the North Unit is overlooked by most people because it is out of the way. Also, thank you for your other comments. I'm ok with some of the negativity, the truth of the matter is that I loved visiting ND.

  • Where are you from? I try to do the Achebach 2 times a season with my siblings and then do it with my friends once.. Its a great trail and the views are great. As a 16 year old I am pretty attached to the North Unit!! lol BTW I am from Watford 15 miles north of the park.. So access is really easy!

  • I live in Madison, Wisconsin. I loved and hated this trail. The views and hike itself were great, but we had trouble staying on the trail or seeing the markers. Wasted a lot of time and we didn't have a topo map with us. I'll know better next time.

  • TRNP was a highlight of my trip out west in 1996 -- the river was way deeper and the banks were boot-suckin mud!

  • It was a great park, our only problem was staying on trail. But, all and all it was a fun experience. The North unit is especially good because hardly anyone goes there.
