  • @Useless2112 On top of the people are still saying "[dislikes] people like [something bad in the song]". Absolutely sickening.

  • there's no 2 sounds better, than a woman having an orgasm and an electric guitar

  • @dicko195 Amen.

  • anybody knows how auerbach made the overdrive sound?

  • @SonOfGrunge1 Chuck Norris kicked his amp. That's why it sounds so awesome.

  • @chrisspectre81 has nothing to do with chuck norris. has everything to do with the black keys and their bad assery

  • @arostot even though the Who do it light years better and so many other

  • @chrisspectre81 Wow, there are still people making Chuck Norris jokes.

  • Am I the only one playing air guitar right now?

  • its okay

  • Not a bad cover i say.

  • @2220Blues Sounds like you're back-tracking. Your first post sounded accusatory. It isn't "stealing", that's how music works. It's borrowing.

  • @gxtmfa but they are bringing down a few notches, They don't reinvent it or put their stamp on it in a positive way

  • great jam

  • My favorite cover is by T.Rex

  • @2220Blues We stand on the shoulders of giants, as they say. If we didn't, there would be stagnation.

  • rush also covered this song

  • this version is awesome

  • 3 people is high on cocaine

  • @jaze592 Come on man, don't blame coke for people being awful

  • @2220Blues Everything I hate about hipsters condensed into one convenient post. Thank god someone is actually being successful making good music. If they stole it, they can hide out in my basement and I'll drive the getaway car. If you really gave a crap about the music you'd be happy they're reviving it. Also, vinyl is an inferior medium for people who care more about people SEEING what music they listen to than the actual music.

  • i think i´m the only one kid that like the black keys or old blues or bluesrock music ... -----------

  • @13FooFighter dont worry...your not alone

  • @13FooFighter bull shit im 15 and been listening to bb king, joe bonamassa, buddy guy, eric clapton, jimi hendrix and heaps of others since i was 9 and some of my mate's do to, there's still kids out there that listen to blue's but where just rare to find these day's.

  • @cuber03 yeah man, i listen to blues too and i´m 13 (;

  • @cuber03 same here, 14 years old and listening to blues whole life

  • @Larm2112 Yas, went to Blue Cheer concert at Shrine Hall in 1966, but the Summertime Blues is even older. Anyhow, here's a Skip James cover of a Robert Johnson song for you and cuber03 youtube.com/watch?v=obW2spw51qc

  • @speedboat dude tell thses kids how Blue Cheer and Canned Heat, MC5, The Seeds blow away these amateurs once and for all./ This is a bunch of malarchy- basement tapers not real deal pro tight, musicians with limitless creativity, and timing

  • @tele757 Finally, recognition for those psych bands that never quite made it :)

  • @speed hey man, I appeal to you, ae the TBK are not even in the same universe Blue Cheer.

From a listening point of view--their central riff,it just plods along and songs go downhill. their is not artistic freshness, There is got to be 10 garage bands right now on the fringes that have talented musician, TBK is not even a real band of basement tapers. Certainly , the Dirtbombs, and s Blues explosion slays this too,. Why about TBK-

  • @cuber03 I am 15 as well and you hit the nail right on the head

  • oh nvm its by brian setzer guitar wolfs cover on this is also amazing though.

  • Guitar wolf cover omggg amazing!

  • Go to their shows and see if they sold out. Two-thirds of the set list is old stuff with just Dan and Pat.

  • Early days Captain Beefheart cover :)

  • Blue Cheers 1968 version is 100 times better.

  • I started listenin' for them years ago and I stll love their music... long live Black Keys !

  • Who cares? Buying CD"s barely supports the artist anyway. They only get a tiny percent. If their music is good enough to be stolen then they're good enough to go on tour or do shows where artists make their real money.

  • i enjoy excessively overdriven guitars

  • @TheDustyPanther

    fuzz mate.

  • @MrIncrediblemre

I was under the impression that fuzz was a type of overdrive? ah well, it's no matter.

  • i searched the song summertime blues on itunes, i couldnt find it wat is the real name of the song cause i cant seem to find it :/

  • @desperatemuslim This is just a cover of a 50's or 60's song

  • @desperatemuslim that's the real name. look up alan jackson - summertime blues

  • @desperatemuslim its a cover version of blue cheer- summertime blues

  • music like this gives us hope

  • nice

  • Buy music? I wasn't aware people still did that.

  • @Jman9632 Yes, honest people do still buy music. I wasn't aware that people still stole music.

  • @tombuttner +1

  • @tombuttner Downloading music is not stealing.....the original uploader stole it...or maybe even uploaded a copy they purchased....either way, downloading a copy that is freely distributed is not stealing.

  • @BlackRockBacon It is most definitely stealing. Just because you aren't the one that put it in your coat and ran out of the store with it, you'd still be found guilty. That's why people that buy stolen goods are punished. You're just as guilty. If you're really interested in supporting a band, then pay your hard earned money for their music, and spend your money on going to see them in concert, and buying their merch. Downloading music does nothing to support an artist.

  • @tombuttner It does when they want $15 for a CD and $25 for a tee shirt and $35 for a concert ticket. Fuck that shit pirate as much music as you can.

  • @Sirthirty30 You say that now, but if it was your music that millions of people were pirating, and you couldn't afford to eat dinner for a few days in a row, then you might sing a different tune.

And I don't buy CD's… that's ancient technology, and it IS expensive, but I always buy the music I want, as cheap as I can get it, because downloading is selfish. Just buy the album off of iTunes, or whatever, or buy a used copy on Amazon… you can still be cheap, and do the right thing.

  • @tombuttner Ancient or not, it's higher fidelity, and better quality, thus I still buy CD's. Plus it's much cooler to own a hard copy of the album. I mean, you can't read the inside of the album cover when you buy it online. Having a physical copy in your hands of the artist's work is why people will always buy CD's.

  • @PoeticJustice05 Agreed. For so many reasons. Having the hard copy of an album just makes you love it more. Record store culture is dying out and what a shame--because there's nothing quite like running into someone looking for the same album as you in a hole-in-the-wall music store. Doncha just love that new CD smell?

  • @thegardenpear love having a hard copy of music, just seeing that big ol stack of casettes and Cds is just such a warm sight :)

I don't think the cd will ever die out.

  • i prefer the who's cover but that is purely coz im a bassist and john entwisle has a really cool lead line on bass and im who obsessed lol this version is still fuckin good

  • Anybody know where I can buy this song?

  • good god. it's perfect.

  • lol, does anybody here know that Eddie Cochran wrote this song? I'm reading the names of everybody who covered it. Somebody even seems to think Alan Jackson wrote it (he was born 6 months after it was recorded).

  • @hepatitis123 hahahahha! o yeah alan jackson definitely wrote it. good god people. lol! nice job man

  • @hepatitis123 everybody knows it dude, what the hell, it's summer time blues, of course it's eddie cochran

  • @theegg89 you'd be surprised. Everybody else was naming a bunch of other artists who have covered the song. Most of them actually said Alan Jackson.

  • @hepatitis123 no you're all wrong it was Cheech from Born in East LA.... c'mon you guys..... ;)

  • @hepatitis123 that's pretty sad since The who had probably the biggest hit with it...

  • this song was not originally by The Who people!

  • ALAN JACKSON?!!?!? i think yes.

epic song, no matter who's playing it. XD

  • Even when the Keys play it, I still think of Caddyshack when I hear this song!

  • Blue Cheer baby!

  • Kinda got the "Blue Cheer" vibe...

  • @hoffbug yeah, black keys doing a cover of a great song

  • Eddie Cochran would be proud.

  • The Who would be proud

  • Very good cover of The Who

  • touche black keys touche

  • What type of effects is he using on his guitar to get that sound?

  • Comment removed

  • @audioslave14 some type of fuzzbox. im not sure what brand dan uses. it's probably an arbiter fuzzface

  • AWESOME!! One of the best, if not the best, bands of the 2000s. Thank god for the TBK. Reminds me of Blue Cheer's cover also

  • Dickie Peterson

  • Black Keys and the White Stripes give me hope for modern music.

  • @starpointz Just the Keys now. Jack has retired the Stripes :(

  • thank the lord above that these guys exist in this generation. im so happy people still appreciate the blues among all this justin beiber jonas brothers bullshit. these guys are sure to be influential.

  • A little bit from "Blue cheer"?!??

  • @rentner66

My thoughts exactly. Cheer never got the credit they deserve.

  • can't believe they covered this! what a great band

  • THANK GOD,

Real music for my generation! :)

I love this band. Love love love.

  • Who cares who covered it best The Black Keys are awesome I just heard of them in a film score they did for the movie; Black Snake Moan "When the Lights Go Out" and Ive listened to most of there songs on Youtube. I love how theyre like a gritty south band makes me wanna cruise or drink whiskey and just party!

  • This version is really great and gritty, but its still got nothing on the Live at Leeds version. xD

  • @zenmaster94 i wish i could have seen one of their shows here in the UK but they were all sold out im still bitter about it

  • I liked Blue Cheer's version better. I'm a Keys fan though.

  • i love the black keys but this a pretty bad cover it just sounds way to thin without a bass player

  • Hmmmmm reminds me of white stripes

  • It's a cover from '58 by Eddie Cochran.

  • im not sure whos version i like better... this or the whos version from live at leeds

  • Anyone got a tab for the main lick?

  • Actually it was also a B side on one of their English singles.

Anyway, just glad they're getting the recognition they deserve.

  • the solos so flippin raw and rough....

  • I love Dan's beard:) ( and beardless Dan at 1:20:) )

  • This song is timeless, and I feel as if I can relate to it now that I'm working.

  • @ackemfort123

Hey dipshit, Summertime Blues is a rock song not a country song. Eddie Cochran did the original, not Alan "I look like a gay country and western pornstar" Jackson.

  • @galaxyrock who the hell is alan jackson? and why are we talking about him?

  • @ackemfort123

    You brought him up dude.

  • @galaxyrock Lol

  • @ackemfort123 everyone know your just some fucking inbred redneck so go listen to alan jackson we know hes your gay butt buddy

  • @321pieguy i dont know if you can call him my butt buddy.. i'd just suck him off a few times.

  • BLACK KEYS KICK ASS!!!!!!

  • What. A.Fucking.Amazing. Band!

  • Who would've thought that this i from the '00's? Thank God.

  • @brilleaben Its a cover of a 60s song by a band called Blue Cheer.

  • @jtessexpress blue cheer covered it too dude. as well as just about every rock band in the last 50 years. even alan fuckin jackson did a version. its an eddie cochran song.

  • @brilleaben haha its not its from the 60's. its a cover

  • @alfredosauce99 no it's not ...how could it be if it was in La Bamba the movie which is based in the 50s'

  • @TheFlatDuoJets time travel

  • The garage rock revival bands were certainly in the 00's. The black keys just waited this long to sell out. I don't even need to buy the cd, I can just turn on the tv and wait for the next car commercial, or HBO credits to come on. Sorry, i'm not trying to be mean, just venting, it's really sad what they have become, they had a lot of potential. But their early albums are where its at! this is the rawest version i've ever heard of summertime blues, awesome!

  • @diky0601 i hate when people say that! First off its not like they are making millions. The ads help them live well financially since everybody rips their music off the internet. And just because they went different with brother doesn't mean they sold out! Seriously! You expect them to rehash the same stuff over and over? That would be boring as fuck! And they only did like a few ads and like a hungs intro! jesus thats nothing compared to artisits today! So chill with the "sell out" shit

  • thank you zombieland for helping me find this band :P

  • oh my fucking jesus!

this is the stuff dreams are madde of, i love the black keys
