hey thanks, heavier return spring on the throttle?, boost pressure seemed to hold it open ( was running 10-12psi by the end) on mine which made it a little scary , other than that i didnt change anything, apparently u need a solid float in the float bowl which i think all nikki and weber carbs have anyway,
yea the carby was inside the box( was hard to get in and out) used the carby studs to hold the box there, im guessing it would be the same deal if u used a 48mm ida im thinking, just had to make sure the box is well sealed, look on performanceforums. com for more info on my setup
Gday matey, nice capella. I turboed my 1600, it was a fully built motor with a blow through Weber DGAV 32/36, VL pump and Malpassi reg. It ran pretty good! I used a small garret turbo aswell, @6psi, 160HP sounts pretty accurate!!! Built it in '06
Go the oddball mazdas!!! (i'll try and upload a video of mine)
yeah it should work , its a bit bigger carby than on mine i think, im not sure if you can just blow the air straight into the top of it or you might have to do what i did and enclose the whole thing. just make sure you have a fuel pump thats at least 4 psi above the boost you want to run and a fuel pressure reg..go blow through for sure can run intercooler and less chance of detonation because cooler air temp. if need any more info along the build up post another comment,
hey mate is that carb inside a sealed box? is it to equalize the pressure, or for some other reason? can you use a standard carb? did you have to change jets, etc?
hey , im using standard carb and intake manifold, its making around 160hp on 96 octane yeah pretty much to equalise the pressure over the whole carb so it doesnt try and force fuel past seals and out of float bowl.
will need boost referenced fuel reg, im using a malpassi one cost 140,dont use a fuel reg like in the vid they dont work.i had to make the secondary jet a tiny bit bigger something like 0.03 of an inch bigger(used imperial drill set)need to upgrade fuel pump im using a VL turbo one and will need a fuel return to the tank, if you need to know any more just post another comment
ollllld schooool luv it i got a nissan bluebird reco L20 std carby is there anything that needs mods on the carb at all?

hay mate nice setup. so does the box go between the manifold and the carby. this set up would still work with a 48mm ida weber wouldnt it.
