KISS was my first concert in 1977 on the Love Gun tour! I was completely changed! A group called Piper opened for them which had a singer named Billy Squire. My first KISS album was Alive. My best friend and I had herd Rock 'n Roll All Nite and went to the record store and saw the cover and was blown away. Oh BTW the ticket price for the Love Gun tour $8.50. Dig it! I refuse to see KISS now with Eric and Tommy. Here is a finger for u Mr. Simmons and shame on u Paul for being a blind puppet.
Peter Criss really was a great singer, probably one of the most underestimated singers - and drummers - alive, i m o. Too bad most of his voice quality was destroyed because of drugs...
...The real deal...When Eric and Tommy came into the group, they should have let them pick out their own make-up and gear so they wouldn't have become a 50% cover band... They would have just been a new version of KISS with new members...Bad bad choice Gene, and shame on you Paul for going along with this as well!!...
By the end of the show there were only about 500-600 people in the audience. Most had simply said "Fuck this" and off they went into the nite never to be seen or heard from again. Surely a dark time in tha annals of KISS.
I saw them 10 days after this show it was my first kiss show i was 16 this change my life never been the same since still rocking at 50 willsee them on 10/24/ 09
. I said I was there at the show .I can remember the show pretty well . lets see, There was s ome counrty band there but not sure who it was. Another opener was The J Geiles band.People were so geared up for Kiss that thay were throwin parafanailya at the opening acts.crazy nite!
@TageMHall I was 18 and I was there also. There was alot of hash floatin around that nite. Do you remember alot of people were tossin around their milk cartons?Beleive it or not, That Kiss concert only cost us us $10.00 a piece, saw the avertisement in some news paper. no seats just an opened field do you remember that?
simmons is a jewish american, he has every right to support isreal and the US. at least he has the balls to support his causes out loud. get the fuck out with your neo-hippie whining, kiss was always establishment from the beginning, they put on make up to sell their records and get media attention, but the point is they rock hard despite their very commercial method of reaching success
I've heard his anti-islamic rants. I dont like them much either, but i dont like it when once A-political performers turn pro establishment.
IF they were politically active from the start, and sang politically motivated songs, FINE! But, KISS were NEVER political & never promoted a political stance, now they do?
WHO fucking KNOBBLED them? They went from an escapist, fantasy rock band to establishment shills! that is NOT rock n roll!
@ace69er Many long years ago I was the biggest KISS fan in town, a girl who spent the night in my room one night couldnt find the door handle next morning cos every square inch of the room was KISS, he he.
But those days are gone now, and the more I see and hear of Gene in particular, the more I cringe at how much of my money he has. I can still listen to the old music from time to time, but not so often now.
Ya right! Gene HAS turned Neo-con shill. Dont 4get he IS an Israeli, so his allegiance is still TO Israel.
His son doesnt qualify for the IDF as Nick is NOT a Jew! If you know anything about jewish matriarchy, the jewishness is passed thru the mother not the father. You are either Jewish or gentile, no 1/2 1/2!
Gene & Paul have both sold out to the establishment, something that would have been abhorrent to them 30 years ago. Watch Rock the Nation, Paul goes anti-terrorist pro USA rant!
Carr. Singer's voice is perfect for vocal harmonies & chorus', but his solo voice live just doesn't work like Peter's or Carr's did. His voice lacks the personality both Peter & EC had.
lol yea i wonder why? gene has something to do with that, but ya gotta give em credit, they never screw up that badly. always sound great except for then...........
